2009-11-09 20:26:10 - 72o: however, with everyone with enough cards to cash, it's a risk I have to take
2009-11-09 20:28:22 - 72o: and, that solves that
2009-11-09 20:28:44 - 72o: dice run good on a 16v13 until I am at 7v1, but can't win
2009-11-09 20:29:59 - 72o: so now the only thing i can do is try to prevent green or blue from taking him out
2009-11-09 20:32:05 - 72o: i don't think that prevented the game from being over, but I had to try
2009-11-09 20:32:15 - danryan: you've increased the odds of blue winning with that shot :)
2009-11-09 20:32:46 - danryan: I have no choice now, yellow has been weakened enough by red that I have to go
2009-11-09 20:35:37 - danryan: gg bart
2009-11-09 20:35:54 - danryan: I have a double cash
2009-11-09 20:36:00 - danryan: but taking it is a bad idea
2009-11-09 20:36:05 - danryan: because blue could have 2 pair
2009-11-09 20:36:26 - danryan: in which case pink or teal would get the game gifted
2009-11-09 20:36:47 - danryan: so I have to kill blue with a single cash
2009-11-09 20:37:19 - danryan: and there is no clear second kill
2009-11-09 20:39:36 - danryan: one thing to do before finishing an elimination - look for the next target
2009-11-09 20:39:48 - danryan: is someone obviously weak, or clearly killable
2009-11-09 20:39:56 - danryan: how many cards does everyone have
2009-11-09 20:40:16 - danryan: because if you're very lucky you may get the luxury of choosing between several targets
2009-11-09 20:40:26 - danryan: here teal is my best bet because of 4 cards
2009-11-09 20:40:40 - danryan: but A3 is next to pink
2009-11-09 20:40:48 - danryan: f4 will be next to pink
2009-11-09 20:41:16 - danryan: so pink looks like a better target, just because of army positioning
2009-11-09 20:41:52 - danryan: and I lose a 5 v 1
2009-11-09 20:41:59 - danryan: so blue will cash and survive
2009-11-09 20:42:14 - danryan: I better hope pink has a cash, or I just made this game very easy for teal
2009-11-09 20:52:02 - danryan: about a third of esc games seem to end like this, with a botched kill
2009-11-09 20:52:22 - danryan: that may be because I tend to be aggressive or just like to go too soon
2009-11-09 21:25:15 - skillfusniper33: gg guys
2009-11-09 21:28:46 - danryan: and he had 2 pair :(
2009-11-09 21:28:52 - danryan: sorry blue
2009-11-09 21:42:47 - dtellis: well I went for blue. 14 to take out 6 and only got 2 of them. Otherwise I would have had the win. That is the breaks.
2009-11-09 21:44:02 - dtellis: gg guys. this one fell into Baron's lap (and mine if the dice had been a little more true.) That is often how escalating games work.
2009-11-09 21:44:22 - dtellis: Hope this was helpful. Look forward to future matchups.
2009-11-09 22:17:10 - 72o: this was helpful, thanks to everyone for participating
2009-11-09 22:17:40 - 72o: it helps to know what everyone thinks
2009-11-09 22:18:41 - 72o: unfortunately I feel like I caused the game to collapse
2009-11-09 22:47:00 - barterer2002: Well that happens in escalating games. You sometimes take a chance too early that you fail on and it gives someone else the game, however if you wait you get taken out (like I did)
2009-11-09 23:40:55 - barterer2002: don't forget to let us know how giddy you are to see this map in front of you Red
2009-11-09 23:56:25 - RedBaron0: [giggles like a school girl]
2009-11-09 23:57:25 - RedBaron0: Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. :)
2009-11-09 23:59:11 - RedBaron0: In a situation like this you always need to be ready to capitalize.
2009-11-10 00:00:38 - RedBaron0: I always atempt to leave myself some options incase the dice crap out on me.
2009-11-10 00:03:34 - RedBaron0: I made sure to have 2 good sized stacks in postition to make a kill. If one stack dies the other can take over and I can continue trading cards in
2009-11-10 00:06:52 - RedBaron0: I also like to kill as many armies as I can before a trade in. That way when trading the next set I have less enemies to kill, and I get more armies to kill them with. :)
2009-11-10 00:07:25 - RedBaron0: great game guys!!
2009-11-10 00:11:28 - RedBaron0: PS: I won this game using my Wii. Its bloody difficult to use this interface toplay!!!!
2009-11-10 03:26:55 - skillfusniper33: lol, thanks for helping me learn some more about escalating games
2009-11-10 03:27:08 - skillfusniper33: I deffidnetly thought you had this one dtellis
2009-11-10 03:27:19 - skillfusniper33: gg guys
2009-11-10 03:28:50 - skillfusniper33: I bet redbarron, tried, but had to give up after only one turn
