Maps Sizes

Postby Zackismet on Thu Feb 01, 2007 7:29 pm

Does anyone use the "large" setting for maps? I find it really annoying to scroll up and down all the time, so i have mine set to "small". I'm not sure though if the map is enlarged in an equal ratio for larger screen though, so it may not be as bad if you have a large screen or not...

anyway.. i was just wondering if anyone used large.

Sometimes I do... Depends really. Its really useful for checking borders you're not sure of, and on crowded maps (e.g. Europe own in the bottom right corner) its nice to spread things out a little. Makes things less confusing.

I sometimes will. And I've heard of a few elderly using it too :)

I've just recently got a new computer system including a new monitor. I've gone from small maps to large now that I have 19" of screen real estate.

My dad was looking at a 2' (yes, 24") screen the other month. I thought he was looking at a new TV, the damn thing was way too big...

I do that for the original maps, as they are capable to be big on my screen without scrolling.
The usual maps I shrink down (World 2.0)

i play every map on large. on 1280x1024 resolution everything still fits nicely into the screen, and it's nicer to see the map more clearly.

I used to play large, but world 2.0 doesn't fit vertically on my screen so I had to switch to small to avoid scrolling.
