Foundry Newsletter: Community Perspectives

Postby ZeakCytho on Sun May 25, 2008 2:00 pm

Well, the first issue of the Foundry Newsletter is shaping up nicely. Now, one of the sections is called Community Perspectives. Basically, it's a chance for you guys, the foundry regulars, to voice your opinions on stuff related to the foundry in the Newsletter. Each issue will have a general "guiding question" for Community Perspective submissions. While it's generally a good idea to follow this, if you want to write on another topic, feel free to.

Usually, the theme for the next issue's Community Perspectives would be posted in the preceding issue; but since this is the first issue, there is no preceding issue. So, the general theme will be posted here.

The theme for Issue 1's Community Perspectives is:
If anything could change about the Foundry, what one thing would you change?

Any foundry member who wants to write a short piece answering that question (or another topic related to the foundry) and have it included in the Newsletter should PM their submission to me by next Thursday.

We hope to see a lot of submissions!

I would also like to note the Perspectives section is for anyone to write in on any Foundry-related topic, preferably the theme, but not required. With the Newsletter, we its Staff hope to generate a greater interest in the Foundry from outside (we will be posting a GD topic, hopefully getting a sticky for it), and having people able to "say what they will" about the Foundry is a critical part of that.

Also, you can post your thoughts in this topic if you want to.

We would REALLY LIKE IT if people had some small thoughts on the "What does the Foundry mean to you?" topic. Think Letters to the Editor of any magazine, it's the same idea. We're just giving a specific "article" that people can reference. Doesn't have to be long, but without any responses, the section will be missing from the first issue.

Alright, since this theme doesn't seem to appeal to people, we'll try again ;)

The new theme is:
If anything could change about the Foundry, what one thing would you change?

If you started writing on the old theme and just didn't get around to sending it, feel free to still submit that. Remember, submissions don't have to follow the theme.

PM all submissions to me by...soon!
