Lancelot du Lac: Point Manipulation [ka]

Postby ljex on Mon Jun 01, 2020 5:29 pm

Accused:

Lancelot du Lac

The accused are suspected of:

Not actually sure what to call this but if it is not against the rules it should be.

Game number(s):

Game 19937347
Game 19937346
Game 19937348
Game 19976293

Comments:
Lancelot du Lac joined 4 games with helmet2hardhat after posting on his wall the following message on May 27th 2020.

"are you alive ? https://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=19929897"

Clearly Lancelot du Lac knew these games would likely result in a deadbeat and joined all of helmet2hardhat's poly games that were open to get the "free" points. You will notice they are all started on the 31st or 1st after the player had already been gone for over a week.

The only reason I even found this is because I was looking at helmet2hardhat's profile after he deadbeated a couple of doubles games as my partner.

This is unrelated, but that city mogul Game 19929897 hurts my eyes. T2 had 3 free turns to take all the bonuses they wanted to, T1 misses 240 troops in autodeploy yet they dont manage to take anything of value. Then T1 doesn't take objective when it's sooo free and saves so much time.

But yeah, Lancelot should not have done this.

Hello everybody,
Indeed this game is incredible, especially with the game parameters. 3 rounds missed in trench, by my teammate ! This should not be forgiven. But I managed to win brilliantly, on my own.
I said to myself, let's give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. You can cancel the games. But know that City Mogul is won by the rules of the art.

maybe there should be something so that a player not logging-in in 48h should have all his waiting games cancelled. somebody will take advantage of it no matter what, and teammates will get hurt by having a deadbeat in their team.

I do understand Lancelot here. The guy offer to launch a couple of game, then, by the time the game filled in, doesn't show up and deadbeat. You obvisouly think that you would lose against a good team in trench. So in order to get the points back, you start a couple of game with the deadbeating teammate.

It's not like he has started tons of game with him...

Well, as hard as it is because he is a Clan mate and friend on this site, this is a wrong doing thing, if you know/find out the player missed turn from first turn in your doubles and ended up kicked out on 5/28, why joining 4 games 2 days later? Since that MIA member doesn’t hide himself it is easy to found his last login time which was 5/23.

I don’t see anything to defend the accused here, it can be clearly seen as « farming » for easy point.

Sorry dude, there is not much we can fairly use to not seeing that way even though wasn’t intentional. Despite teaming and friendship, fairness is throughout the board.

Get your hand on the table and you will get some smack...

You can’t really pay yourself back joining games against a member that you know is MIA per his wall last login date. Rather, those games should be reported to be delete to prevent such action. One PM to king achilles stating the evidence and he would have deleted those 4 games seeing the creator is missing since a week.

as I said... someone will take the points either way. why not fix it instead and remove a player who hasn't logged in 48h from all the games he created or joined but that have not started yet?

Since no such a feature exist....yet, here Lancelot was is the know this guy was MIA, so if you know why would you join a game that would see your opponent deadbeating?

No worries for me. I completely assume my actions. :o

I wanted to take the points he could have made me lose if the team opposite was not as bad. When I am invited to a game, I do not expect my teammate to miss his first three rounds.

Its very clear to me that you were going to win that game before you joined the poly games. Like sure someone could make the argument of lost auto deploy from earlier rounds but quite frankly that doens't matter in a no reinforcements city mogul game and instead is all about troops due.

He joined all of the games that the other guy had open that were 1 vs 1 where it would be free points. And beyond that was also going to win the city mogul game by the time he joined the other games so not sure how the getting his points back argument has any legs. See above referencing the log to prove that he was in a position to win before joining the poly games.

I agree a fix is the optimal solution for long term but as one doesn't exist the question is if the above is acceptable behavior.

I myself got warned about playing with new recruits because a feature doesn't exist to not award points if a NR deadbeats so not sure how that argument applies here.

At the end of the day the question is, what was the intent and I would argue it is way different to join a game and have someone random join the game and learn helmet is going to deadbeat than it is to join a game where they know helmet hasn't logged on in a few days and is likely to deadbeat. Just my 2 cents and how knows what admin will rule but to me this seems like a clear case of Lancelot du lac trying to get an easy 40-50 points.
