I don't think these new ones or the old are the way to go.

I think something needs to be done with where the rivers edge border a territory. Maybe just a thin black/dark blue line on the edge?

Damn, I didnt think anyone would notice.

I dont understand what you are saying about the rivers.

What I mean is your territories all have a thin black outline around them. These outlines are broken by the rivers. So maybe just fix the outline of the affected territories. Make sense?

em, I don't like the new mountains, not in keeping with the style of the map or something. I'm not sure what to suggest instead though.

Do you think you could maybe try with a darker sea and river colour?

I realise how much effort goes into maps (which is why I gave up on mine  ) and how hard it is to do things that sound simple, but yeah I think a darker colour would work well, help the country stand out more.

Also Haut Rien seems to have gotten messed in the last update.

Yeah, thats a bug involving Lozierre.. I put an L to see if I could just ship that over since I'm working off a Jpeg that I had when my harddrive crashed... but it didnt work.. and I forgot to delete it..

As for darkening the sea/river, unless alot of people agree I rather like how it is now and am more focused on the mountains.. as that is all It seems I have until final forge(and a title)

I actually rather like the ocean color..perhaps maybe a touch of navy blue to it...or a dark purple...might make it look a little better. Same goes for the rivers.

Regarding the mountains, go back to those original old mountains, try to eliminate straightlines and angle edges...try to blend the colors a little more, but still give it depth. Perhaps I'll try to experiment and see if I can come up with something, but don't hold me to it!

Makes sense, I could dig such mountains. Also get us a title for the next update, as has been previously mentioned.

Hmm. I don't know if this has been mentioned before...but this France map lacks a part of France! Where is Corsica? It's like having Italy without Sicily or Sardinia. Seriously Corsica should be included in any France map.

I'm not I'm trying to figure out wtf to do with the mountains, I'm the worst at that, I made an update earlier today I guess I forgot to post it..

Also, as for corsica not being included, its not going to be, I'm not a big fan of including that Island as I just see no point.

But I see the point... I agree with Ruben. No Corsica would be a great flaw.

Its really too far off the coast I'd have to extend my map.

A suggestion. Can you leave out the bordering regions to gain some space and then rotate France (in a similar way to the Italy map by RJ Beals) and insert Corsica in the lower right corner? It doesn't have to be geographically perfect. What do you think?

It would require alot of backtracking, and tedious work for me, but we'll see what everyone else thinks..

I'm guessing you are from france?

Just clicking on my profile would reveal to you from where I come. ;) Actually I am from Malta. Still I cannot imagine a France map without Corsica as I told you earlier it is like Italy without Sicily and Sardinia.

Now if I was French I would probably react this way:
1. If I was from mainland France I would want you to add Corsica and probably feel offended that you did not include it in the first place. I might also be tempted to insist that you also add the overseas territories of France! :)
2. If I was from Corsica I would thank you for not including Corsica and invite you to make a Corsica map instead. After all many Corsicans think Corsica should be independent! ;)

I figured that most corsicans wanted to be independant.. I get the feeling its like a taiwan thing..

So basically, I'm doing it for the corsicans.

Not necessary, adding Corsica is too impractical.

Make a poll about Corsica and see what other people think. That's the best solution.

I'm just going to go with it, in the end map maker knows best, if this was brought up earlier I probably would have considered it, but at this point its just impractical, and the corsicans really dont want to be part of france and i'm not a fan of imperialism.

It is your call at the end of the day, even though in my map I basically had to do many things that I did not want to do. I am sorry I did not bring up this earlier. Somehow I seem to have missed this map! But I still think that Corsica should be in any France map because it is part of France. :)

I am very impress to see someone putting so much time to have a French Map that I will play as soon as it will get out.

I have just some minor comments, if you are going for geographical names spelled in French :

Pyranées is wrong it is Pyrénées,
Lozierre idem, it is Lozère,
Alps is Alpes,
Bas Rein and Haut Rein are Bas Rhin and Haut Rhin,
Some is Somme,
Loire Atlantic is Loire Atlantique,
and Cote du Nord is Cote D'Armor.

I hope that I am not repeating other messages, I had not the courage to go through the 19 pages and maybe other French people could see if I forgot something.
