Well, you added some things to muerte's suggestion.

If you could just foe out what a player says you could still play him even if you find him extremly annoying.

well, someone might be a cook.. and you might not want to play them, that doesnt mean that you dont want to talk to them.

Also, someone might be a great player, someone who you enjoy going up against. But say one day you go into a forum and read something they posted and think to yourself, "woah, who knew he was so close minded" or "dang, he is a liberal freak" or something like that, if you foe what they say, you can still play them and never have to read the things they say that you dont want to see.

Invitation of Foes in team games

Postby Belgian Blue on Mon Aug 23, 2010 11:51 am

Concise description:
I suggest that you should be able to invite Foes in team games. Of Course then in the other team(s). I must say I really want to beat most of the players on my Foe list. In a triple or quad they will attack you anyway...

I don't think this would benefit the majority of the community enough to go through. Most people foe others for the sole intent that they won't be able to play games with them. If you are wanting to play games with these people, why are they even on your foe list to begin with?

Ok, so why don't you just take them off your foe list, play them, beat them, then foe them??

i have people on my Foe list because they are shocking partners and i don't want them to EVER join my team again, but playing against them would be good as the opposing team would basically be a man down

Any interest now in separating game foes & forum foes? Personally, I don't even want my foes' forum posts blocked. I'd love to see this idea implemented.

Turn FOE into BLOCK

Postby bedub1 on Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:32 pm

Currently after you foe somebody, their posts are blocked, but you still have to look at their hate-filled Subject lines.

I recommend their subject lines and threads are removed completely, so you don't have to see them at all.

It could be kinda like Live Chat where once you /ignore somebody...you don't see anything they say anymore. It's kinda like they just don't exist.

This will bring happiness and peace to the forums.

Thanks. I also wouldn't be tempted to click on "show this users post" after reading the crazy thread title and wanting to know what crap was being spewed out this time...then experiencing an emotional response and having to respond to it.

I believe you have to use judgement.

I have a very small foe list, admittedly. However, while I like being warned "this person is currently on your foe list", so I can better know if I might want to read the post, I DO like at least knowing that the posts exist.

And... no offense, but I have a feeling both of you are on enough foe lists that maybe some thicker skin is in order (if you dish it out, you should be ablet o take it)

I think that it should be at the discretion of the player and set up that way. Maybe keep the two separate. Foe you are still aware of activities and Block you don't see anything at all. I can see where there may be a situation where you really don't want ANY reminders that a certain player even exists.

i was really hoping this was an improvement of the current foe system

ie. i could block someone from joining my team but they could still join any other team

Seperate foe&ignore list functions

Postby Mr_Adams on Fri Apr 15, 2011 1:08 am

So, today, I happened to log in as a player was making an elimination in a freestyle escalating game. I hopped on and stole the kill. Hey, it's freestyle, that's how it works. Well, he then calls me a few names and the joins 2 of my other games with the intention of suiciding against me from the get go. He was the last player to join in one of the games, and said so in game chat. So, I want to put him on foe, so that he can't join my games, but I also want to be able to see what he says in chat, so I know if he is trying to make alliances against me. At present, I get one or the other, and have to take him off ignore every time I get online, in order to check chat.

concise description:
separate "Foe"- the removal of a person's text from your screen on the forums and game chat, and "Block"- the prevention of a player from joining your games.

I'd support this, as long as there was a button that did both @ once so every foe wouldn't need to go thru 2-4+/- screens each time.
