Make Left Nav Bar Float with You

Postby JamesKer1 on Sun Jun 21, 2015 2:53 pm

Concise description:
  • Change the properties of the Left Nav Bar so that it can float along with you when viewing lengthy forum pages.

Specifics/Details:
  • Move the Battle Royale section to the Join a Game Tab and reinvent the tab to be friendly to both regular royales and special events.
  • Remove the Medal Stats and My Ratings tabs as they are both accessible through the profile.
  • Change the "Wall" Link to just a general "Profile" link, but still keep notifications active- this way those who need to access the wall can quickly scroll down and still be alerted, and those who want to access ratings or medal stats can do so quickly.
  • For Moderators- Make the Admin Menu collapsable, and collapsed automatically until clicked on.

OR

  • Make every header collapsable, and only viewable when clicked on

OR

  • Make the left nav scrollable (possibly problematic for mobile use)

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Looks more professional
  • You don't have to scroll up continuously to get to CentCom if you are near the bottom of a thread

My left nav bar is about two screens high, so I wouldn't want it to float with me. I'd never get down to my clan or map rank tabs that way. Collapsing them would work, though.

To get to Cent Com, I just hit the backspace button. If you're down at the bottom of a thread, you can click the Central Command link in the bottom left.

I'm concerned that if the Battle Royale link were moved to the Game Finder page, those games would never get filled.

I'd rather the menus be viewable by default and collapsible if the user chooses to do so.

I agree, though, it would be awesome to get an upgrade in the user interface as long as it focuses on function and ease of use.

this is a script i made a while ago. it has 2 features. you can collapse by pressing the header. and you can drag them around to order them as you want.

and it saves the state it is in so if they are collapsed they will on the next page as well ;)
