To stop intentional deadbeating

[To stop intentional deadbeating]

Instead of having a choice of xxx games to choose from - players can only play the next game on their waiting list

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

[*]it would stop a lot of intentional deadbeating and reduce the advantage of waiting to be the last player in a freestyle game [/list]

On a serious note, this wouldn't work for freestyle games, or speed games. Because if your next turn is a non-speed game, you'll have to take that turn before you can take the speed game turn.

Also, what if you are in a team game and are waiting for some comments from your teammate? Then this won't work, because you would have to wait until you took the turn from the team game before you moved to any other game.

Some turns I quickly play because they require no thinking. Think of stalemates or games that are already decided. Some games, I'd like to take a bit more time so I stall them till when I do have time. As JD also mentioned, in clangames I will ask my teammates for their opinion on the current state of the board or they will ask mine.

Also, in trench games some players deadbeat because it would take far too long to finish while you can also miss 3 turns. This might be intentional deadbeating, but never have I heard somebody complain about this.

That would encourage a lot of point dumping.

There's a whole thread full of solutions to that. (Not that I expect anything to change around here.)

I imagine there is, I just haven't seen them. And I'm not saying that it wouldn't work, I'm just trying to think of all the pros and cons to each "solution."

If you are in a speed game but have a standard game with a less time remaining then youve got issues. I agree that there are certain games where some time to think about your move or consult your partner is required. Other games should not be slowed for this.
