Ah, thank you very much. I have been looking around, but apparently I haven't seen the to-do list yet. I'll have to check it out. Thank you.

Anyway, how many people would participate in a "speed game"?

Speed Games will be the same as regular RT games, except with a very short time limit, perhaps 10 or 15 minutes.

Rt Option

Postby e-n-s on Thu Mar 01, 2007 6:42 am

i dunno if this has been brought up before but there should ba an option when makin the game whether it is going to be rt or not. i may start an rt but a player that doesn't know might join and doesn't have the time to finish the game and im stuck cuz i cant do anything about it. there should be and rt option or something that states that the game is going to be an rt or just a regular game.

What happens if you set up an RT game with this option, and your opponent doesn't show up?

If you check out the To-Do List at the top of this forum you will see that speed games(realtime games) is something we are working on.

people flaking out of rt games

Postby djinh on Thu Mar 22, 2007 4:53 pm

Just had the experience of having someone flake out of an rt game...

Would it be an idea to provide a "real time" setting on games, so turns time out after 15 minutes or so?

That way the game can continue even though one guy flakes out...

I think it would be a good idea to read the 1000 other threads on this topic, plus Lack's "to-do" list before posting.

Don't worry about it. We all have missed the *To-Do* list. Making posts like is is part of being a posting noob. Believe me, we all have made this kind of post at some point or another. We have just become surly because it seems to happen so often.

I am surprised how nice you just were, Hec... That adds a bunch of cool points in my eyes, dude.

Game Speed Option

Postby Zorg_rsk on Fri Mar 23, 2007 9:47 pm

Hi everyone,

I had an idea which I think would be pretty useful to implement. Conquerclub is great because it gives players the opourtunity to play games in a few hours or a few weeks. This is something great about the site. However what happens when someone who wants a slow at their own pace game, joins a speed game, or vice versa. It just slows everything down and leads to frustration.

So my suggestion is this. Have the option when making a public game (tournament and private dosn't realy matter), for one of three modes:

Game Speed:

Fast Game (active and fast paced game)
Medium Game (1 turn every 12 hours)
Slow Game (1 turn every 24 hours)

The game speed is just a suggestion, and the 24 hour limit would still apply to all of them, however the game speed could apear in the game details and allow people joining games to have an idea of what they are getting into.

I think this would be a great improvement to the site. Thoughts?

EDIT: I read the to-do list and know there is a suggestion for game speed already, however my suggestion isn't about changing the actual time given to complete a turn, it is merely a guideline so players can join games with likeminded players.

This is already on the *To-Do* list. It is recomended that you check that before making a suggestion, that way we don't get massive amounts of suggestions about the same thing (which seems to happen anyway). But ya, this has been suggested many times before, and lackattack is working on it, you just have to wait a bit okay :D

it was a good idea when me and 100 others suggested it 6-8 months ago.

now that we pay for this and lack is working here full time u think the "to do" list would take days,,, not months or years to implement great ideas.

or would this option make it more apealing for people not to pay for pemium ?

maybe thats the reason for the stall/.

Give him some time, he said in the annoucement that he was working full-time on CC as of March 31 which hasnt past yet (unless this was a typo). Also i read somewhere he was going on vacation soon, but i cant remember where when and how long or if i even remember correctly.

Correct, once Lack ties up all loose ends, expect a lot of fun and exciting things to happen in CC.

Currently Lack is busy with a lot of behind the scenes stuff to keep the site running smoothly. Soon he'll be able to switch over to more public things like those on the To-Do list.

So for now, stay tuned!

Real-Time Tab

Postby jc103 on Sun Mar 25, 2007 2:56 am

When creating a game, there should be a little tickbox to hit if you want the game to be specifically created for a real-time (RT) match.

This way, it should go into a little section at the top of the 'Join a game' list, specifically designed for those who want a RT match.

The tab itself shouldnt affect the game, so if one player has to leave, (irritating though it may be), the game degenerates into a normal game without any problems.

The game should, however be in the 'RT section' for only an hour before it gets (in a sense) demoted into an ordinary public game. This means that if you start a RT game but it isnt filled after a short period, you wont get it filling up whilst you are asleep and hence stop the RT which you created yourself.

Anyone need more clarification on this idea? Comments? All views appreciated.
