RT players leaving in middle of game ( create new style)

Postby CANADARULES on Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:02 pm

Creating a RT Game and others that join leave in the middle of the game leaving the other players at a loss and having to check back later to see if may be thier turn up to 3 days later in some cases. A great solution is to have a setting for real time or a special log in area for real time were the player has 15 min from the time it turns over to his/ her turn this will keep RT games fun for all and painful if your not paying attention to your turn. I would like to hear feed back on this as I know everyone has experienced this at one time or another and if we can change this that would be cool. 8) [/img]

Realtime games

Postby lilJ1Money on Tue Mar 27, 2007 6:29 pm

I think that these games should have a shorter amount of time in order to complete each turn. this would make a realtime game go much quicker.

Adjustable turn timer option

Postby risk master2000 on Wed Mar 28, 2007 12:26 pm

this way no one can complain about people not playing there turn and waiting games would not be held up and if you could see it as a option you know what you are getting into when you join a game so there is no whining or excuses and realtime games can be enforced simply or people who know it may be like once every 48 hours that they play can create games where other like them can play with out missing turns I mean the possibilities are endless

for timers set 15 minutes a turn, 30 minutes a turn, 60 minutes a turn, 2 hours a turn, 6 hours a turn, 12 hours a turn, the regular 24 hours or a max of 48 hours. those simple variences could eliminate a lot of confusion and make for a lot more happy conquers and less peopl joing 50 game and forgetting to play on half just so they can play more frequently

Suggestion: Adjustable Time Limits

Postby carblue5757 on Thu Mar 29, 2007 3:19 pm

I tried to see if this has already been suggested, but I couldn’t tell, so here it goes.

Has anyone ever thought of making the time limit a gaming option. Right now it is automatically set at 24 hours to play for each turn. What if there was an option to make it 12 hours in between each turn or 4 hours?

I understand that some people may not like this because of their "lives" (like there is something other to do than CC) but then they can just use the default of 24 hour turns.

Pros:
1) Those looking for a quicker game have found a game variant that
will allow the game to move along "quicker"

2) Dead beating in a Real Time game will be less of a nuisance

3) Dead beating in general will be less of a nuisance

4) Option for the default still in tact. Don't have to play if you don’t
want to, or if you do not have the time.

Cons:
1) Programming =) . Don’t know if this is even feasible with the
coding aspect.

Forever,

Should there be a separate option for short RT games?

Postby NowhereMan on Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:40 am

Here is a suggestion / poll for everyone.. I admit I'm new here but I think a good idea is for there to be a new option to choose RT games with shorted time out periods. something like 5-10 minutes between the time one person ends a turn and the next one begins. I realise that things happen where you may have to leave a RT game in the middle, but since nothing really important is riding on these games ( aside from points if you consider them important ) I don't think it would be a bad thing. Especially if a quit option is introduced later. Anyway here is the suggestion / poll :

there's another online risk site :

http://denizengames.com/grandstrategy/

there you have the choice between 24h, 18h or 15minutes to take turns.
If someone creates a game of 15min, other player can see this option in the "join game"-list. Of course you must keep your eye on the game... but it's fun....

checked it site is Lame cannot compare to cc and the time limit is formulated in a idiotic fasion 24 and then 18 hour or 15 minutes the 24 hours and 15 minutes I understand but 18 hours is a waste of an option.

an Ideal set ohf time as option would be 48 hours, 24 hours, 12 hours, 6 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 15 minutes would be a real set of options that makes sense

Suggestion: Fast Games (+-10 min to play)

Postby bigbang on Thu Apr 05, 2007 5:13 am

Fast Games (10 min to play)

Specifics:
Allow 10 to 20 to each turn

Why it is needed:
To make it possible for a really quick game without runaway players

Priority** (1-5): 3

I think this would make the game a whole lot better

Postby gman4537 on Sun Apr 08, 2007 3:39 am

It would be great if there was a rt game mode. In this game mode, people would have like 5 min to start their turn and 5 min to make their move( or something along those lines).

I'm sure deadbeating and players waiting is a problem for more than just me and i believe it would make the game experience a lot better/
