Deadbeat time limit

Postby Grognard5000 on Tue Dec 19, 2006 2:40 pm

I don't know if this is possible or not, but I was wondering if something could be implemented where after you miss a turn the time alotted to take the next turn would be on a sliding scale.

For example: you have 24 hrs to take a turn. If you miss this turn, the amount of time to take your next turn could be 18 hrs. and the next 12 hrs.

This would cut down on the time waiting for deadbeat players to take a turn.

I just finished a game where 2 of the 6 players deadbeated out. In effect 6 DAYS were spent waiting for them NOT to play.

Just a thought.

quite a good idea in my opinion, one which i'd quite like to see is if a new recruit misses his first turn , he gets kicked( i'd guess a high percentage of these players never play ) a player who has less than 20 games has two turns leeway then the usual 3 for all other players.

or something along these lines would be a great improvement at least in my eyes :D

Does seem like a good idea. Generally, if someone misses a turn, they will take their next quite soon after unless they deadbeat. Could save a lot of time and trouble. :)

It's not going to happen.

The whole point of that 3 day grace period is so you can have a life outside of CC. Your suggestion would simply shorten that grace period to 2 days essentially. Why not do that? Because real life happens and I think it is good that you can miss turns every once and a while if you need to. This has been suggested and rejected before, so I don't see that changing with this thread.

But Sully, the point is really to make it easier on the rest of us. 90 percent of the people I'm referring to are the ones who sign up, join a game and NEVER come back.

If you are in one of those games with 1 or 2 new privates it takes forever.

I realize stuff happens and you migjt miss a turn here or there, heck it's happened to me, BUT I never miss multiple turns and 2 DAYS is enought itme for anyone to take a turn.
