another card option

Postby jddonkeykong on Sat Dec 30, 2006 11:38 am

A fancy new card option Reinforcement cards ( or something)

As a new card option each player starts the game with a random set of cards ie: red, blue, green, multi. That can be used at any time during play,
other than this begining set no other cards are allowed. In effect each player would have a wild card set of reinforcements to spring on the battlefield during crunch time. It would add an element of uncertainty and fun i think.

it is just needed to add yet another option to keep us intrested.

This sounds like a good idea, I would like to see a game like this.

Though, would the cards be flat-rate or escalting for when you turn them in.

did'nt think of that it would make it intresting, although who would ever want to be the first to trade ?
so on that thought i think flatrate would most likely be our best bet.

I argee, but another problem, they would have to be set, and you can't have 5 cards.
When you have 5 cards you have to turn them in, so that wouldn't work and when you have 4 cards you might not have a pair, so it has to be set which cards.

One thing I do know, people don't like even more emphasis put on luck when it comes to games. I am not sure this option has any life in it.

or a variation

Postby jddonkeykong on Sat Dec 30, 2006 2:31 pm

After conversing with my buddy Risktycoon we came up with a variation on the start with cards idea.
A random set of three cards sometimes usable sometimes not Ie:
two blues one red.

I'd rather it just be usable ones.

perhaps an option like having 5 reserve armies to use at any time in the game would be good? this would be particularly usefull in a no cards game as sometimes if some1 gets gd deployment then its a downhill battle for the other players especially in doubles no cards wen there aren't even 2 people who can go against the 1 wether in an alliance or just out of need and common sense they just attack the 1. i got stuck in a doubles game like this where we simply didn't hav a chance coz we couldn't break the borders.

No thanks - I'm happy enough the way it is. Also, the cards would not be used at "crunch time" as most players would find it more beneficial to use them at the beginning to grab a continent. I personally feel that the game is the perfect balance between luck and strategy so please don't ruin it! :-$
