Risk Card Option: Ramping up and Down *To-Do*

Postby WidowMakers on Fri Dec 08, 2006 9:47 pm

I am proposing a new card option. Having the cards go up and down.

4,6,8,10,12,15,12,10,8,6,4 and so on. This would make timing much more important. Cards would not go into the atmosphere with 50 and 55.

I like the other types too but why not add another to make it more diverse?

What do you think?

I like it as long as the trades don't get to high.

I would like 25 (maybe 20, but surely not 15) and back... as option, not to remove escalating option.

i would say 20 maximum. esc games can b fun wen they r even and u get the enormous armies but that can happen with flat rate games as well. i just played 1 where i had multiple ters with above 50. i usually play flat but would giv this a go

i agree don't remove escalating. There would be 4 card options

None
Flat
Oscillating (up/down)
escalating

I like this idea. I don't like Escalating to much in the latter stages. This would be a nice alternative and will add an extra strategy, certainly with many players.

card ramping

8) good idea. I used to play in a risk league years ago, and sets advanced to 50, then the following set returned to 5, and they advanced by 5's back up again. Adds a schvinckter shrinking element to things!

I've played a few table top games with this feature, our limit was either 25 or 30, but I think 20 might be the best option.

An "oscillating" option with 20 max in addition to "escalating" sounds great.

Yeah, I'd have to agree on putting a limit on the cards. It just gets out of hand sometimes, and sometimes I forget how many armies I have coming up.
Remember, life is like a video game. It's hard work, and requires alot of tries to get good at it, but after awhile... you get the cheat codes, which make everything easier!
