Conquer Club Greasemonkey Script (beta .2)

Postby Tr0y on Tue Mar 14, 2006 2:17 am

Updated.

Get it from
http://personal.ecu.edu/tnt1202/conquerclub.user.js

For install help go
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=525
if that doesnt help just reply here.

Hit f5 when you get their to reload it to make sure you are seeing the most current version.

Installs the same.. Should install right over the old one, but if in doubt just uninstall the older version.

Changes
* Added dynamic countdown timer
* Added statistics
* Automatically Jumps to map.

NOTE
Armies/Turn w/o Bonuses means the # of armies you will get w/o turning in cards or taking continent bonuses into account.

I might program continent bonuses in, but I dont think its worth it. As its pretty easy to see who owns what, and if I had to program it I would have to put in every individual map. :-\

I may throw some css bar graphs in next or something.. Who knows..

I rewrote the thing from scratch to make it better.

Let me know what you guys think.

Yea, I added the arrow for extra emphasis :lol:

Some reason the image doesnt give that dynamic feeling by itself.

Looks good man..

Though.. Answer this one...

I'm running identical versions of FF and your code and such, but on my laptop
I can see the current status of the players, the circles beside each name, but on my desktop I'm unable to see them...

any ideas?

Sequential vs non-Sequential?

I dont have the status icons in sequential mode because its harder (maybe impossible ) to code, I'll have to look into it though.

Maybe, I'd rather not because I have to hardcode the continents in... If I can figure out a way to parse xml remotely w/ javascript then it would be a lot easier (kindof, it would still be relatively hard), I think this is possible w/ something akin to AJAX... We'll see, I wont make any promises. If I can do said thing then I'll also probably make it so when you are attacking from x country it will only show x's borders. If it happens it will probably be in v4

Next version I would like to make a switch for color blind people.

Maybe shaped status icons. ( triangle, circle, square, or something..)
Probably some fun battle statistics, like total armies lost and total armies deployed.

Maybe put bar graphs in there for each of the players.

I got it working last night and it was very useful and now it doesn't seem to want to work. Greasemonkey is on and so is the script and it still doesn't want to come on. Any suggestions?

To Kingwaffles: same thing happened to me. The problem was that I had the greasemonkey script enabled for "http://www.conquerclub.com/*" and I had it in my favorites bar as "http://conquerclub.com/*" without the www, so I just added that. I don't know if thats the problem you were having but check it out if you haven't figured it out yet.

Also I found one glitch in the script: I'm playing a game right now with someone with a dash in their name, "Sheik-e", and it doesn't calculate his cards or what stage of his turn he is in. I'm not sure if that's easily fixable, and it hasn't been a problem before so it's not that big of a deal, but I just thought I'd let you know.

Overall though, it's an excellent resource and saves a lot of time, so thanks a ton for all the work you put into it.
