Maybe. Maybe not. Only he knows: the rest is opinions, none more valid than another. I can only repeat that I spoke to him in the chat room, and base my opinions on that.
If he is a troll, and I have been duped, well done to him, I can live with it.
I'm not sure how I would feel though if he is not a troll, and I had caused grief to an already stressed and vulnerable 13 year old (who perhaps has used bad language as a way to lash out).
On balance I am content with my approach, and feel it has more chance of retaining future potential members than looking at it the other way and condemning with opinions. As they say, it is better that a hundred guilty men go free than one innocent one be convicted.
However, I suspect views are entrenched now and opinions will not change, so let's leave that avenue there and return to the subject.
How do you propose to retain potential new members?
Rather than just point-free guide games, how about making a new recruit's first point-scoring game a team game by invitation from an experienced officer?
