Hokay ... so not much happening but thumb twiddling!

The number of posts so far ...
show

So that leaves militant and IB on even stevens at the least involvement (ok so Chuck is lower by one post but given he wasn't in the game until later I wasn't counting him .... yet!). Medefe said "let's get the game started" so my vote returns to ... unvote vote militant.

Let's get the game rolling!

And in your ten posts, you've voted for four different players, nearly half the number that are playing. Need I remind you that it is the content of a player's post that is important, not the number. And besides, I would contest that I've done more useful scumhunting in my three have than you have in your ten. How does flip flopping as you call it help the town?
Guys I am intentionally lurking. Discuss; Play mafia, it is good.

Whilst I completely agree with you re flip-flopping and quality of posts, I am also concerned that:

  • You have to account for joke voting on day one
  • My Meta has always been to flop about - particularly on day one - so it would be weird (for me at least) if I didn't do that
  • The way people respond when being voted is the best way of getting scum tells - and that helps town!
  • Being silent doesn't help anyone

  • Being purely defensive is not offering anything useful to the game (otehr than scumtelling) or to town
  • Small games like this need to be played - get off the tread-mill!

we do need to get something going.
putting some pressure on somebody might give us something to work with.
sitting around not posting and waiting for the deadline can only help mafia.

Quite right, but it's always better to go on something than on nothing. Even if the something is so flimsy that it disappears as soon as you throw a second glance its way. The "random pressure"-method has this uncanny tendency of always targeting a towny in my experience.

Right now I'd be leaning towards pressuring thehippo, because, even when accounting for joke votes, 5 different people voted for in 9 posts is a lot.

Hippo, you make it too easy to be the target. You'd think you'd learn. the thing that jumps out at me, is that you are now using your own "meta" as a crutch to keep doing the same crappy things? It's like you purposely built up this "meta" so that you could be this way all the time, and use this as your defense. It's scummy. Always was. Always will be. Meta or not, it's scummy. However, this is the first time that you've come to your own defense using the meta argument. usually someone else will do that for you. Makes me wonder if you didn't get yourself into a scrap and nobody is bailing you out, so you bailed yourself out?

vote Hippo

Let's see if we catch anything.

yeah, that's because there are always more townies than mafia.
in our current setup we probably have 2 or 3 bad guys and that means a random target will be townie in 66-77% of the cases.
but randomly pressuring somebody doesn't necessarily mean lynching him.
you could just put pressure and see what happens. he might slip up and say something bad, he might get overly defensive. or somebody else might jump in and be overly defensive, somebody might bandwaggon for no apparent reason.
as long as there's no rush to lynch and give the accused time to defend and others to react then even random pressure can be good.

Pressure is much better than silence always...I take no stock in meta from previous games though hippo.
As long as no one does something silly and put someone at L-1 then dumping votes to someone cant hurt.

On the side of hippo...the vote hopping and what not...it could be just his way of pushing day 1 along. If not militant...then Iron butterfly?

Because rather than respond to what I said, Medefe simply proceeds to grumble about my day one flopping and jokevotes. I have returned to militant and explained why. I appreciate what y'all say about my day one floppiness and if you don't like it I won't do it in future games. I thought it was funny but clearly I was the joke! Lol. Anyway, can we deal with the militant or IB issue now?

This doesn't explain how you thought I was in any way clearing militant, though. So, yes, I'm keeping my vote on you.

Your behaviour has been erratic, and I'm unsure of your reasonings. Since we're still a good way from the deadline and in day 1 I have no problem with unvoting if you were to reach L-1, but so far you have been responsible for most of the scumtells, so keeping the pressure on you is just sound townish behaviour.

right after we get a claim from hippo8 i'd also love to hear some words from iron butterfly and crazymilkshake5.
they haven't posted anything since the 15th (IB) and the 16th (CMS5).

IB has been very active in 4 other mafia games so he's clearly avoiding this one for some reason.
CMS5 has also been active in several mafia game but avoiding this one.
