The maps of other countries (Canada, U.S.A., Brazil, etc.) don't have bordering countries on it. I think you should stick with the same principle and use the 2nd map.

But Albania is staying. Period. I sound like I could actually take command of something. Cool.

Well since Italy is a small country... I hate being commanded. And stop using a small font size!!!

Your last map was the lceanest one by far, but having your borders the same color as the water makes it a bit confusing, try making your borders a different color so that they stand out. You can keep some of them that blue color to make rivers and barriers. I think the shading looks good and makes the map pop out of the page a little, but you need to fix it up a bit. There are some spots here adn there you need to touch up.

I think this is what most ppl meant when they said it needed work

all the borders are rivers. that's why they're the same. that shall change however.

...i thought it couldnt get any worse than the first image...

You arent working with the right tools. ur maps suck because you have to draw in the borders, get a map with the borders (like the one i posted originally in this thread) drawn in, then all you have to do is use the fill colour button to change the colours of the countries etc. Ur making this hard for yourself for no apparent reason.

Maaaaan, your graphic skills are ven worse than mine... The Brazil map was done in paint, so its possible do better than this...

About the map... I see you still doesnt have a good idea about continents, it changed in the last update. The last continent scheme is poor, it will create same problem as in Indochina map. W-E borders will work better than N-S.

And you can include other countries, but then you cant call the map Italy.
And please choose better the main colours for the continents. Last image has 2 near yellow colours, and the continents are neighbours. Be careful about this.

This was one. All I really did was fill in the continents.

I labelled Umbria and Toscana, added textures, got rid of a few of the bridges, but did not change the key for the Dolomites, which were changed to Indigo.

You changed the colour of a continent, but forgot to do it in the key.

Then why do the borders in between the countries so ugly and uneven in thickness?

That's the way it was. Albania is from a separate map, but from the same website.

Image Changed Dolomites key colour, made borders black, added a few rivers, and adressed the black rectangle concern. Better?

Really, I cant see one good thing in this map until now. It seems a wasted effort to me. See those connection lines, is there a way to be worse than that?

A tip: wanting really do this, pay attention to the playability part first. All effort in "artistic" part for now will be wasted for sure. First, lets decide countries, continents and borders.

Another one: use only Italy, or then use Albania and other surrounding countries and change the name of the map. Only Albania is creating a trouble: you cant use a much bigger Italy to add more countries, due to the distance between Italy and Albania.

- Stare at the map of the Phillipines for an hour

- Start again

- Get rid of Albania

- Get hold of a nice map of Italy and Sicily, including Sardinia shouldn't be a problem.

- Divide up Sardinia and make clear connecting arrows to (somewhere near Rome) and Sicily

- Divide up Sicily

- Divide up Italy into sensible regions, then divide the regions into countries

- Do a country count - if you have less than 40 split some more

- use nice solid colours for each continent

I posted a map like that up in the first page, happysadfun didn't like it. Also don't think she is going to move on the albania issue, apparently it was apart of Italy a long time ago.
