Question is, should it be allowed to challenge upwards against him since he missed his turn. What do you guys think?
I realize that you probably put in the PM when a person's ability to make a challenge expires, but you need to have that information in the main thread. Also, if someone does NOT post a challenge here - only tells you via PM - you need to post it for all to see. That helps everyone to know who's next and who's available to be challenged.
As for the question of allowing challenges upward against a "missed turn" player, I answered that in my post on page 5 of this thread (I'll quote it here).
IF someone doesn't post a challenge within 3 days (and aren't listed as having been challenged). Anyone who hasn't been named to a challenge AND hasn't started a game [in order of precedence] may CHALLENGE the missing player. The match shall be played on the lower ranked person's home map (even if they are now the challenger - due to non challenge status). The missing player shall then have 3 days to report to the new match (otherwise forfeit their points/chips).
This system, basically allows someone SIX days to go missing between rounds before forfeiting their points.
EDIT: Notice that they won't be eliminated for going missing unless someone of equal status (or the person who had the bye changes their mind and decides to challenge the missing player) hasn't become involved in the round.
I updated this to allow the person who had the bye to change their mind as they've earned the bye. NOTE: Their bid order would now be last as they've already made a selection (bye).
