Do we really have to wait until the next WC? can't we do another something like this before then, because I don't know where i'll be in 4 years, but it might not be CC.

Well after losing our first two games it was a bit much to hope for to go through.

Also all first round games have now been initiated. That's 48 games. (YAY!)

Sweden are out and had a good time playing. The tourney was a great idea and you guys running it are making an awsome job.
Hope this was the first of many CC World Cups to come, but not every 4th year only though :D

Good luck to all teams remaining !

The knockout stages will be commencing shortly. The knockout table has been updated accordingly.
Click here to see the draw

All 5 Norway teams (including Canada/Norway) made it through. The probability of that happening randomly is something like 1 in 48... so well done guys.

Groups A, B, and C remain unfinished.

Yeah, people from Norway are very dangerous in this game... (people from Ireland, on other hand, are almost harmless  ) Im happy we will already not face Norway 1 in the 2nd round :D

Hmmm, why are the tables of group stage showing 2 games for England 3 and Ireland 1?

Yes, you are qualified:
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=35943

If you need a substitute, grab one quickly.

By the way, even with 3 games going, now we know all qualified teams and their positions, right? (Well, I assume England 2 has no chances against South Africa at this point.) Should the 2nd round games start? Or started already?

Can we wait with the next rounds, I think I am not the only one going on holiday of the teams going through, maybe waiting for september is even beter, if only we would know when people will be away and for how long.

Yes, the second round games have started, game 39807 is the first to start. Please tell your team to join asap.

I'm afraid we can't wait, the competition is dragging on as it is. Waiting until September would cause an even greater loss of players I fear. Subs however are allowed.

INFO REGARDING SUBS:

Subs are allowed but:

a) The team must find the player themselves
b) The team must decide whether the sub is to be temporary (ie. only used until their teammate comes back) or permanent (ie. their teammate is essentially dropped from the team and replaced by the sub).
c) The team must inform either myself or Pedro
d) Subs are allowed from teams that were knocked out in the first round, and from people not in the competition, but not from teams who made it to any later stage, to prevent any cheating.

I just hope we don't have an all Norway final... it'll sound much less exciting if it is.

All I know about unknown armies around the world is that the Swiss are equiped with a knife that if you attack them at night you might;

1. Have all your scales removed.
2. Have a fisk hook removed quickly
3. Have all the dirt under your fingernails removed.

The Norwegian army have a pen knife that has one tool - a big stick with nails in it to club baby seals.

Kudos to Norway for getting this far, but when one of them hits us, that will be as far as they go.

Russia/Brazil is going to win. We already brought the english-speaking world to its knees.

Yeah, I sent already, at least twice... Isnt your inbox full, partner? Well, I wouldnt say like RA, but I expect a great game if we play against Norway people...

Some statistics of the event:

USA teams: 8
Qualified: 3
Played: 23
Won: 9 (39%)
Opponents killed: 30
Team members killed: 49
Rating: 0,61

England teams: 5
Qualified: 1
Played: 14
Won: 5 (36%)
Opponents killed: 20
Team members killed: 28
Rating: 0,71

Canada teams: 4
Qualified: 2
Played: 12
Won: 5 (42%)
Opponents killed: 19
Team members killed: 21
Rating: 0,90

Norway teams: 4
Qualified: 4
Played: 12
Won: 10 (83%)
Opponents killed: 32
Team members killed: 10
Rating: 3,20

Ps: Im not considering mixed teams. One game between USA and England still not finished, but looks like England will win.

The stats make me think... Is risk a national sport in Norway?? :)
Detail: one of Norway teams defeat was in a game between 2 of them

Hey, just a note to say that I'll be gone for the next couple of days, so if there's any problems with the competition tell Pedro.
