All conference games have been sent by invite. Those who are freemium play as many as you can and just flick me a PM when a slot opens up and I'll re-send an invite as soon as I can. A few players have left the site since the creation of the tournament (my fault for delays in tournament progress) and so the conferences have been adjusted accordingly. This should not affect the scoring of the tournament since a final 4 will still be derived from the strongest records by win percentage, meaning that number of games played is irrelevant and performance will be evaluated purely from win percentage.

Out of conference games will be created at a later date when a suitable number of conference games have finished. All players will participate in three of these, regardless of the amount of conference games played.

Here is a conference-by-conference layout just to clear up any confusion and also help as a reminder for future clarity...
ACC: whydelilah and whittsie85 - inactive
Leaves 3 teams

BIG 12: theNightMan716 - inactive
Charliedesu - freemium
4 teams

BIG 10: equinoxfox22 - inactive
ariskocrat - freemium
4 teams

SEC: All active
5 teams

PAC-12: gringo_taco and JrFan88 - freemium
5 teams

4 inactive players and 4 freemiums. There has been confusion with the invites regarding a few players but everyone seems to be on the same page now moving forward...freemiums will accept invites on a rolling basis as their slots open up.

Caffeine you definitely are!

All out-of-conference games have been created and sent. Freemiums, accept any away games that you can rather than home games since I will be able to re-send invites to your games easily if they are on your home map. All games were created using random.org and everyone is home on 1 or 2 of the games; whether you got to play at home once or twice was a complete toss-up of luck. Once all of the conference games close out, I'll post a standings of everyone...this should be in a few days since there are only a handful of in-conference games left to play out. For many of you, these will be your last games since only conference championships (top 2 in each group) and overall championships (top 4 overall) remain after this, so finish strong.

The season is almost done? Seems like we've only played like 5-6 games, with no idea where we stand in conference.

Here is an updated standings for each conference. These will likely see major shifts once the out-of-conference games finish out. Games which are not yet completely finished but overwhelmingly one-sided have been recorded as a win or loss.

ACC: 1st - Louisville (3-1)
2nd - Miami (FL) (2-2)
3rd - Clemson (2-3)

Big 12: 1st - Texas (6-0)
2nd - Baylor (3-3)
3rd - Oklahoma (3-4)
4th - West Virginia (0-6)

Big 10: 1st - Ohio State (5-1)
2nd - Michigan (3-3)
TIED 2nd - Wisconsin (3-3)
4th - Penn State (1-5)

SEC: 1st - Florida (7-1)
2nd - Texas A&M (6-2)
3rd - Auburn (4-4)
4th - Alabama (2-6)
5th - LSU (1-7)

PAC-12: 1st - Stanford (7-0)
2nd - Arizona (5-3)
3rd - USC (2-5)
4th - Oregon (1-6)
(UCLA has been kicked from the tourney for refusing to communicate and accept invites. This is why there are more wins than losses total.)

Again, win all 3 of your out-of-conference games and you can probably sneak into one of the top 2 spots for your conference unless you're dead last...so play hard.

Re: NCAA D1 Football Tournament OUT-OF-CONFERENCE GAMES

Postby fusibaseball on Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:41 pm

All regular season games have completed. The two teams with the highest win percentage in each conference will now play each other in a best-of-three conference championship series. The records for each conference are recorded below:

ACC:
1st - Louisville (swimmerdude99): 6-1
2nd - Miami (FL) (Osiros): 4-3
3rd - Clemson (Ratrin): 4-4
Louisville has a strong lead; Miami will need to win all 3 of the series games to advance to the championships.

BIG 12:
1st - Texas (iAmCaffeine): 8-1
2nd - Oklahoma (Charliedesu): 5-6
3rd - Baylor (chidone): 3-6
4th - West Virginia (PAUL912): 0-9[/b]
Texas has dominated the conference and is already guaranteed a spot in the top 4. Conference championships will be played out anyway for the sake of tournament honesty and thoroughness.

BIG 10:
1st - Ohio St. (ariskocrat): 5-4
2nd - Michigan (rmjw10): 4-5
3rd - Wisconsin (Evil Semp): 3-6
4th - Penn St. (buster582): 2-7
A bit of a messy conference...no clear winners but if Michigan wins the series 2-1 there will have to be a tiebreaker (again on a random map). Good luck to both.

SEC:
1st - Florida (G0rgatr0n): 10-1
2nd - Texas A&M (Serreski): 8-2
3rd - Auburn (dd515087): 6-5
4th - Alabama (muti): 5-6
5th - LSU (Seamus76): 2-9
Probably the most competitive conference of the bunch, Auburn's mildly successful season was overshadowed by two very strong performances in Florida and Texas A&M. If the series goes 2-1 in A&M's favor, a tiebreaker will have to be played (another on a random map). Good luck to both.

PAC-12:
1st - Stanford (SuperWang): 10-0
2nd - Arizona (Blinkadyblink): 6-5
3rd - USC (JrFan88): 3-7
4th - Oregon (bearshark3): 2-7
Stanford's flawless performance guarantees a conference win and most likely a high seed in the overall championships. Again, the conference championship series will be played for the sake of tournament thoroughness. Keep an eye on Stanford for the prize.

Good luck to all 10 teams who have survived the regular season and thanks to the rest of the participants for playing. A special shout-out to G0rgatr0n, SuperWang, swimmerdude99, and iAmCaffeine for especially strong regular season showcases and near-perfect records.

Re: NCAA D1 Football Tournament CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP SERI

Postby ariskocrat on Thu Feb 05, 2015 9:09 pm

So, a dominant performance in the B1G Championship is enough to get Ohio State into the playoff, right? RIGHT!? I mean, we travel well, and think of all the money we ... err.. tradition-- YES! the tradition and excitement we bring to the sport... I doubt I make it, but it's been fun, everybody. Good luck to everyone!

I'm glad I could provide some vengeance to Alabama (Muti) and Oregon (Bearshark3), whose wins (most likely) knocked me out of contention. And well done to Louisville (Swimmerdude) on kicking my teeth in on my home field. Thanks for all the time you put in, Fusibaseball!

If any non-playoff teams want to play a bowl game, send me a PM.

Well I lost my last match up with Charlie 2-1 but I'd already progressed anyway right? Just wondering what's happening next. These formats sometimes confuse me since no actual sports tournaments in the UK run the same way as the USA.

Yes Caffeine, you'll still progress because it's based on overall record. We'll be progressing to the last stage of the tournament soon once SEC finishes out a long-winded game.

The following 4 teams have been advanced to the national championships.

1st seed) PAC-12: Stanford (SuperWang): 12-1, 92% win rate
2nd seed) SEC: Texas A&M (Serreski): 11-2, 85% win rate
3rd seed) ACC: Louisville (swimmerdude99): 8-2, 80% win rate
4th seed) BIG 12: Texas (iAmCaffeine): 9-3, 75% win rate

Despite a strong 3-0 performance from Ohio St. in the conference championships, its win rate is still only 66% and so the conference cannot be represented in the top 4. 1st seed will play 4th seed and 2nd seed will play 3rd seed in the first round.
