I plan to get this tournament underway on Friday, Dec 26th. (I am at -8GMT for those who wonder.)

Everyone will get two races (games). Red you are the skier. Green you are the hill.

Unlike every other game you have played in CC, this one it does matter how quickly (number of turns) you take to lose. The quicker you lose the more it benefits your opponent. If you are losing, the next best thing is to go to the round limit.

If you are the skier and are losing, you already are getting a 20 (20 seconds on the clock), do you want your opponent, the hill to get negative time off their score? If you concede you are giving them that.

If you are the hill and are losing, you already won't get any of those lovely negative bonus times, but your opponent will have a faster time on that segment. Make them take the full 20 seconds by going to the round limit.

Good luck, fast skis, nasty bumps for your opponent.

Remember 10 races. If you tank one, nine more coming and only the first 30 skiers score points.

Any questions, please ask

Silly

P.S. 24 hours to pick up games.

=D> =D> We are off and skiing, all of the first section of the first mountain are issued. Anyone who does not have two Europa games, one as red and one as green, let me know.

The next section will be sent out when the first is 80% complete. About 91 or 92 of the 115 games completed.

The second race will start in about two weeks and the third in about a month. We will see how quickly race sections are being completed. I want to keep the tournament moving and finish by about July or August but I also don't want to overload. I hope to keep this a casual and fun tournament.

Only 6 skiers have fallen getting out of the starting gate. Hopefully they can ski the following nine races in better control. We are in mo =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> tion.

For those of you who are freemium (and for those who are not to keep things fair), I am instituting a small change. I am going to be issuing the beginning of the 2nd race and in another couple of weeks the 3rd race. I need to do this as I said in the original thread to make this tournament finish before 2016.

This will, I know squeeze the freemiums. So to perhaps provide some relief, I am doing the following. Since there are 10 races and one doesn't need, necessarily all of them to score to be competitive, I will allow you to drop out of races that you are losing or just are not interested in. Since only the first 30 score points. But only under limited circumstances.

You must notify me before I issue a set of games that you want out. (After I send the games out, it will be a DNF). Example: you have completed the races for the sixth, but I have not sent you the races for the seventh. I will score it as WITHdrawal. I will allow this twice. It remains, 2 DNFs, results in a season ending DQ (you are out). If I issue the game and it is not accepted within 24 hours, it is a DNF. One may not use this to rescue oneself.

If you have a DNF in a race, you are still in the next one, unless it was your 2nd.
I don't like thinning the field with DQ's but I won't hesitate.

Enjoy, and I hope you are doing better than my present position. Last in the field after two rounds. (The second is not complete.)

Hi

On the scoreboard, it would be good if you fill in every cell if the game has been played. Look at my score as an example. For Europa, I have a score of 20 for S and blank for H. One cannot tell if I've completed the Hill game or if it is still in progress. If you were to populate 0 for the hill game, then one could tell that I've finished the game.

By the way, I do like the format of this tournament.

The second race, "Pacific Rim Mountain" is now underway. The first games of Round 1 have been sent out.

So two races going, I expect to get a third going before completing one. So each of you could have as many as 6 games going.

Any problems, talk to me. Most things can be worked out if I know what you need.

Third race is now started. Everyone should have two.

Just a quick note to reexplain why the races keep starting when we haven't finished any.

Parts of my pm to another racer who is freemium:

On the other hand, here is my problem. I need this tournament to end by August or September. A race last about two months. Which means my last race needs to go out by May -ish. With 10 races, that means 2 per month so that the last race is issued in May. So it is very likely that I will have you entered in 4 races at one time, or eight games, and you are allowed only 4. But as I said I have to issue the races to be complete on time.

So I either have to drop you or you have to tell me which races you are in and which you are out of. You may drop a race anytime before I issue the games. So let me know which races you wish to drop as we go allong before I issue a set of games. I don't care if it is at the beginning of the race or in the middle, as long as it is before I issue.

Hope this helps,

New additional policy:

The first race, Northern Mountain, is almost complete.

The Scoreboard is now alive. The first 30 people have scored and are on the Scoreboard.

Please remember only the first 30 people score points in each race.

Are we following the 12 hour waiting period for fog games? I know it's an unwritten rule, but usually the first player offers that courtesy for a snap.

Thanks!

There is no 12 hour rule in effect. It is nice to offer it. But if you are like me and have too many games going, one forgets, and plays without thinking.

But no such unwritten rule in effect. However, it is nice to offer, and I usually try to.
