Among the growing wave of protests around the world, yesterday thousands of people gathered outside the BBC's lair in London to protest their biased coverage of the Palestinian self-defense efforts. As with all such protests, no Israel supporters could be seen. The world is united against Israel. Only Obama and Olmert, Benny and Bush, and their ever-loyal Amen! chorus of Bible thumping extremists, stand in Israel's shrinking corner.

Do you agree with Israel that Dr. Stephen Hawking, CH CBE FRS FRSA, is goyim trash because he's called for a boycott of Israel and Israeli-made products and refuses to enter so-called "Israeli" territory? Or do you think Stephen Hawking is an anti-Semite?

Putin: 'I support the struggle of Israel'

Warm meeting between delegation of rabbis, led by Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, and Russian leader.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday met with a delegation of rabbis, led by Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, former Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar, and rabbis of the Rabbinical Center of Europe (RCE).

"I follow closely what's going on in Israel," said Putin during the long meeting, which was held in Moscow.

"I support the struggle of Israel as it attempts to protect its citizens. I also heard about the shocking murder of the three youths. It is an act that cannot be allowed, and I ask you to transmit my condolences to the families," added the Russian president, in referring to the abduction and murder of three teens in June by Hamas terrorists.

"There cannot be a situation where people manipulate religion to slaughter innocents. ...I ask you in the name of the people of Israel: please, bring an end to the violence," added the rabbi.

Putin responded to Rabbi Yosef, asking him to tell Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that he is a true friend of Israel and of Netanyahu. Netanyahu called Putin on Thursday, and in their conversation, Putin called for an end to the conflict in Gaza.

No, I do not agree -- but what is Israel gonna do? "Yes, Mr. Hawking, of course you're right about our military actions against the Palestinians. We'll just stop now." No, of course not. They're going to defend their foreign policy at all costs, because it's pretty much the centerpiece of their existence.

Do you agree (a) with Dr. Hawking that "the situation [in "Israel"] is like that of South Africa before 1990 and cannot continue," or, (b) with Zionists who have declared Dr. Hawking is a "moron" whose books should be "burned" and that Barack Obama was born in Kenya?

Your tactic of selectively quoting people whose claim to fame is that their internet fan club is the second largest only to Ann Coulter's, is really making a strong case.

You're mad at me because the brightest star on the Zionist side is Debbie Schlussel? It's not like I pulled some random message board poster out of thin air. Sclussel is the reality of who is prominently supporting Israel. These are the people with whom you've thrown in your lot. If you're embarrassed by them, well, I don't know what to tell you, other than have fun at the book burning.

You know that's bullshit. You would never argue that President Obama is the greatest proponent of democracy in the world, even though via his office he's known as the leader of the free world. You need to steelman if you're going to be intellectually honest -- argue the best possible version of the Zionist perspective. You're strawmanning now, which makes your comments seem weak at best.

LOL, this is the best possible version of the Zionist perspective on Stephen Hawking. If I were trying to strawman I'd have chosen someone like Tommy Robinson or billy07.

Debbie Schlussel has been published in the New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times and The Jerusalem Post among other media. She worked for Republican Congressman Mark D. Siljander at age 16, was a Jack Kemp delegate at the 1988 Republican National Convention and has worked on numerous political campaigns. Her film reviews are posted at Big Hollywood, which is part of Breitbart.com. She was a talk show host on radio in Detroit. On Election Night 2000 through 2001, Schlussel was the political analyst for Detroit's CBS and UPN Television affiliates, and was a regular political commentator on the weekly series, "Flashpoint." Schlussel is a frequent guest on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher,” CBS’ “Early Show,” and FOX News Channel’s “O’Reilly Factor.”

You seem to have this fantasy that there's a basket of Yale Ph.D.'s and Nobel Laureates essaying about Zionism. Sorry, that's not the case. What do you want me to do, make someone up? Just tell us you want to burn the goyim trash Stephen Hawking's books and get it over with; it's like pulling a band-aid off. It will be over in a second.

Why are these mutually exclusive ideas? When you take the people out of it, your question sounds like

"Do you agree (a) that Cuba is a communist state, or (b) that Lance Armstrong is a douchebag?"

and so we can see why your polemics on the Zionists are intellectually bankrupt.

Sophistry. The issues of Cuba and Lance Armstrong are unrelated. The fact that Stephen Hawking's opinion on Israel and Israel's opinion on Stephen Hawking are related doesn't need to be explained to any reasonable person over the age of 8.

Anyway, I'm done with this silliness. You're clearly firing off chaff to avoid having to be seen as agreeing with Sarah Palin, Debbie Sclussel, and the Amen! chorus. I get it. I'd be embarrassed speechless if these were the intellectual ringleaders of an idea I supported, too.

This might be a relevant argument if you were quoting Benjamin Netanyahu. Instead, you've taken the argument made by Debbie Schlussel to be the definitive stance of "Israel." That is sophistry.

I, like saxi, will always take the side of the opressed.

The oppresed might not be like you, they probably aren't blondish, won't look pro and with more sophiaticated weaponry, might use tactics that you disagree with, but they are the oppressed.

The tactics used to defend then might not be the best, but if you had someone pressing a knife on your throat youll be justified for kicking his balls.

Stop the intelectual bullshit, the speeches and reveal your true colors. This shit needs to be stopped. This world we live in will put a person on jail for having pot on him but will leave Bush living in a mansion and 30 servants when he deatroyed a country for a lie.

I have no intellectual arguments, and I will side with those defending the opressed even if they nuke cc.

I have seen pictures of Muslim mosque with banners along the wall that reads 'death to Israel' & have seen videos of Muslim school children doing arithmetic with killing Israelies. But you will never see either of those scenarios from the Jews. In fact when the Jews captured their capital in 1967, they respectfully left all Muslim mosques intake.
I have been to Israel and I affirm they are delightful people living amongst neighbors that hate them and will not hesitate to launch miss les from a mosque to hurt Israel.
That being said, I have several friends from Tehran and they are wonderful people, yet they have a special reserved hatred for Israel.

The Bible records that the whole world will turn against Israel, so maybe this is the start, especially since America has its first president that is not pro-Israel. But in the end God crushes the world forces that come against Israel & this the "Seals", "Trumpets" & "Bowls" of Revelation's Armageddon.

My interpretation of the scriptures is that Israel divides its land for peace, but this angers God & ushers in end time stuff. Reading the title deed to the land in Genesis, its Israel's.

Zionist Response, Fantasy Version for Metsfanmax
In response, Higgs boson particle team researcher Dr. Basil Basington - who has won three Nobel Prizes, the Mr. Universe contest, and once rescued a basket of kittens from a burning building - penned an eloquent, peer-reviewed treatise on why Jon Stewart was an Anti-Semite.

I agree this is an accurate representation of the consensus view of American Zionists about why they support Israel. I would like to personally thank you for having the courage to simply come out and say it instead of pridefully denying the genesis of your opinion like other Israel supporters here (e.g. GabonX and Metsfanmax).

She looked at him closely and said, “You were one of those with Jesus of Nazareth!"

But Peter denied it. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, and he went out into the entryway.

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.”
I hope you'll continue posting on this topic. It's important everyone knows that the basis of support for Israel is in scripture and prophecy, and not the chaff being fired off by Israel supporters here to hide the biblical origin of their opinion.

People are irrational about all sorts of small risks, like the chances of a core accident at their neighborhood nuclear reactor. Asking "why panic" isn't helpful -- people will panic when there are rockets flying about, even if the chance of any individual dying from one is very, very small.

They should take the missiles with stride. They'd also have more government resources to use on more useful goods.
