in group A of the european World cup qualifiers Belgium beat Serbia by 2-1 and Croatia(ranked 4th in the world) lost to scotland(ranked 74th) at home with 0-1

Because of this Belgium now has a lead of 3 points on Croatia. The chances of qualifying are really big now even though we still have to play against Croatia itself.

you guys just had some official qualifier games? maybe i wasn't aware because france is in a small group of 6 instead of 7 with less matches. Belgium has an awesome team suddenly. I mean i think it's better to have great players on all positions and all so young comming out at once, you guys really had some bad teams for over 10 years. I think I never saw such a strong belgian team and they will keep getting better. You have a team for quite a few years!

Who is your biggest enemy, netherlands? Cause for french, belgium is seen as a friendly neighbour, most probably the friendliest of all and we got a bunch (belgium, luxembourg, germany, switzerland, italy monaco, andorra and spain; actually wondering if france isn't the european country with the most neighbours, but that would probably be russia) Some wallons even want to be part of france! :P

A match against the netherlands is seen as a derby yes. Though with the french and belgian team at somewhat the same level right now, it should be interesting.. Usually there is a big difference in level

yeah we suck right now. I remember a game vs belgium, i think just before the WC 2002 that was a home game, we had just won the past world cup and the past eurocup so we played it as if it was already won and got our ass kicked; then got our ass kicked in group stage on the world cup where we were number one favorites!

Looking at what players you guys have, France isn't all that bad. Just like Belgium no favorites for the WC, but still a danger for any team.

Any of you guys know any pickup leagues in New York City? Or could we get enough people from CC to create one? I've always wanted to try my foot at it.

So....

Brazil vs Spain int he final.

Nobody comments which is not a surprise since the Confederations Cup still suck.

But, what's most important so far:

No jogo bonito by Brazil.

Spain didn't look so good today.

Nice picture!

And spain got dominated! With that kind of support you'd be a fool to bet against Brazil come the World Cup.

if you want the goalie not to stand a chance you just need this guy, the best ever (those are just from lyon where he made most of his career and won 7 championships). Was funny cause I saw a french sports program where they went to see him in new york (he now plays for the red bulls) and all his iditic american teammates had no idea of who he is when he arrived. Don't they watch champion's league? lyon played it for like 11 years straight 8 or 9 in which Juninho was in the team. Well yeah, they usually got kicked out in quarter/semi finals.

In Mexico, around 10 years ago Victor Ruiz was completely dominant in free kicks, it was amazing cause teams didn't want to foul anyone of his team close the penalty area. It might seem to you that if this was as good as I'm saying he'd played in Europe but he was only a good midfielder, good enough to play for the Mexican team but not much more.

I remember watching Toluca matches because they were a delight to watch specially with Saturnino Cardozo who was a crack and have no idea why didn't play in Europe, and if they committed a foul close the penalty area, it was more than 50% sure it was a goal.

I've never seen anyone like him in this regard, no Beckham, no Pirlo no Ronaldinho no anyone.

This was the best that I could find.

Cardozo was so good that once injured, with minutes for the game to end, his team losing, walks to the coach and says "Let me in, I might find one", and the coach, one of the last guys you'd expect let a player tell him what to so, sends him in, and seconds later he scores. That goal is number 6 on this video, and you can see the coach laughing, the few times you'd see him laugh during a game in his whole career.

This vid has better goals, but the quality is a little lower.

This is pretty much what happened with juninho. Teams had been scared for like 10 years straight to commit any foul near the box vs lyon even in champions league. When you knew juninho was preparing for a free kick, it was almost a penalty. Same thing, never had the feeling of so much danger in a free kick with other players because their goal rate was no way as close as his.
And i don t agree wauw. Juninho was a very good defensive midfielder with lots of influence on the game in lyon, he was also the second captain behind their legendary goal keeper coupet. During that period of time he played a lot with the brazilian national team and did world cups ect. He was just less known because he played all his career for lyon.

By the way speaking of the conf cup and lyon... They must be so pissed to see that Fred still has game!!
Fred was lyon s striker during the juninho years and he was sent back to brazil for free because his brother/agent was a huge dick and was trying to take advantage of every little thing. Fred & juninho were both playing and scoring during the world cup 2006 being lyon players.

And in your face spain! The win streak is over :P

Brazil had some help from FIFA, if what Spain claims is true, that they treated them poorly.

I didn't like Brazil winning because that's not Brazil, at least not the historical Brazil. I'd like to see them play jogo bonito again.

Help from where? They can go insert stuff in their anus. They can t even score penaltys what are they talking about? Spain got spanked fair and square.

And no joga bonito with neymar, fred, paulinho, oscar up there? It was a very entertaining game and they have a brilliant attack line. Or is it that torres made you wet?
