In what world is there a team called "barce"?
What would you say, "lazio scored" or "the lazio scored?" "Lazio scored" sounds so terribly wrong.
Anyway, I ve learned that it s useless to argue with trevor.

Who saw the games tonight? Just saw the highlights.

I say barca, but that wasn't my point. In English you do not say the Lazio because in our language that's not how it works. Just like we don't have male and female words.

Well from now on i will just use the untranslated article, because the way you name those clubs sounds really dumb.

Joshy; bayern missed a penalty too. If my aunty had testicles I would call her uncle.

You've missed the point. Never mind. CBA discussing it anyway.

Getting borderline racist there mate. Saying the Leeds sounds dumb to any fluent English speaker, whereas just saying Leeds sounds weird to any language that has masculine and feminine words. That's it, hardly worth arguing over.

well why give "the leeds" as an example; this is the total opposite of what I'm saying and makes me wonder what you understood.

nietzsche wrote:All this betiko trevor thing, I'm going to ally with trevor, because he joined the fantasy baseball league.

betiko is right in the sense that it sounds stupid when people say (in spanish, at least) Lazio scored, in this case is like a proper name that it's formed, and includes "la", "La Lazio", "La Roma", "El Inter", "El Milan", "La Juve" and it's the same with Spanish clubs: "El Barca", "el Atleti", "El Real", "La Real".

When we speak of English teams, we add the "El" some times though, so it makes sense that, in translation to English trevor can make his changes. I'm simple used to the fact that in English i will read team names and nicknames without the "El".

But "Barce" does sound weird, it should be Barca, or Barcelona in english.

If you are reading it in a sports site, you can find it both: "El Chelsea" or "Chelsea", but in spanish, adding "El" is like pointing out it's the team you are talking about and not the neighborhood or whatever CHelsea is. If you are chatting on a bar, I don't think you'll hear "Chelsea va bien", you'll hear "El Chelsea va bien". So "Los Spurs", "El United", "El City", "Los Gunners"...

And betiko is right, "mas mejor" sounds like something very, very ignorant people would say in spanish, if you said that, you'll never hear the end of it.

betiko knows his spanish well, except I can use mexican slang words to make fun of him without him noticing.

Maybe mas mejor was a bad example but they said something - mas bueno maybe, more good? My point was though that things don't always translate the same and la Roma translating into English as the Roma is juts plain wrong. It's Roma.

well i hope the atleti wins by 5!!

While Mourinho is the king of trash talking among coaches; Zlatan is definitely his alter ego among players. awesome!!!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes he would have ‘destroyed’ the Premier League, had he moved here.

Paris Saint-Germain and Sweden striker striker refused a trial at Arsenal when he was a 16-year-old, opting for Ajax instead.

And Ibrahimovic, 32, said: “England is a very strong league, with three or four of the best teams in Europe – but, if I had played there, I would have destroyed it, like I have everywhere else.

“Arsenal could have happened, as everybody knows – but I would not do a trial. Who do you think regrets that more, Arsene Wenger or Zlatan?

“I’m always amused when I am asked about not having tested myself in England."

Ibrahimovic, who scored four goals in a 2012 friendly against Roy Hodgson's England side, added: “The last time I faced England, which is supposed to be the best players in the Premier League, what happened?

“Maybe people need to be reminded that it was the Zlatan show.”

Er, no. . Anyone can do that with no goalkeeper. IMO the free kick and the second were better goals.

seriously.. they are scary! what kind of stats are these?????? way better than last year, and they won absolutely everything last year... they look unstopable.

by the way... zlatan 5 goals last week  if you look at him play it really looks like he isn't even trying. No wonder it went all downhill for milan after selling him and thiago silva to paris...

well I personally don't like bayern, but they are definitely impressive and are ought some respect. best team of the past decade with barcelona, no doubt and best team this year I'd say.

Oh, and looks like ancelotti deserves some apologies from real madrid fans that were so pissed off to see him coaching their club. he's doing a great job so far.

of course not; but your comment basically shuts all discussion possible about it even if you are kidding! ;)

is Guardiola's bayern more impressive than last year? I think so, at least on a domestic level I hadn't realized that they were that close from perfection in terms of game stats.

And will Guardiola's Bayern be more impressive from 2013-2017 than his Barça was from 2008-2012?
It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they are.
