And will Guardiola's Bayern be more impressive from 2013-2017 than his Barça was from 2008-2012?
It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they are.

in 2008 it was united chelsea in the champion s league final and the real madrid won the liga for the second consecutive time, and in 2012 madrid won the liga and the champion s league final was chelsea bayern, so we can actually leave that to 2009-2011 for the impressive barça :D

Dortmund just won 2-4 in st pete, so that looks like what we all predicted will happen there.

He started with Barça after that - in summer/fall 2008.
His first Champions League run with Barça ended with the 2-0 win over Man U in the 2009 final, one of the 6 trophies Barça won that calendar year.

2-0 for olympiakos vs united. The greeks were actually not that bad against Paris in the group stage and they did eliminate benfica. Paris won 1-4 there but it did not reflect what happened during the game.
United might have underestimated them. Nevertheless, a comeback is more than possible in manchester with the fans pushing.

What is a fucking disgrace about Moyes is that he had Chicharito warming up for 30 minutes and never let him in. Chicharito doesn't have the best technique but he runs a lot, moves a lot, asks for the ball, and for some reason it's there to score goals.

When all the players on the pitch have run out of ideas, when they think they cannot score for some reason, Chicharito always makes something happen.

He's been completely ineffective this year, like the whole Man U squad.

So far, 3 out of the 3 English teams have lost their first leg 2-0... Chelsea to lose 2-0 tonight for a full house anyone?

18/1 so I've thrown a cheeky £5 on it

I agree. Also he left one of Utds best players this season in Manchester...

Next time you see Utd watch Young when he crosses the ball, not once does he look into the box. Him, Smalling and Cleverly are completely useless.

basically what we all put our money on before the last 16 started... and the only upset is united... but is it really that much of an upset?

and pretty impressive real madrid. niet; definitely the best real I've seen in years. still find funny how so many people got upset when ancelotti was number 1 on the list last summer.
And galatasaray hasn't said its last word! very impressive HA. They deliver! a little 2-2 in stamford bridge? ;)

Nah, Chelsea will be the only English team in the last 8.

Think it'll be the strongest last 8 in years... can make a serious case for anyone of 7 teams to win the CL this year.

At the start of the season I placed a bet for India to win the 20/20 world cup, Chelsea to win the EPL and Baryern to win the CL again. Not looking to bad so far.

humm, might be wrong but for me this season dortmund is behind the other 6. And yes, they all look very strong.

i switch my current perception to this (there should be the juve or city in there..):

1)bayern
2)madrid
3&4)paris/barcelona
5&6)chelsea/atletico
7)dortmund

don't really feel like waiting another 2-3 weeks for the quarter final draws! :?

brother betiko,
and everyone else...

what i always say, one of the most popular upsets ever in history, name ? it is galatasaray FC.
ppl may look at the score 1 1 in istanbul may lead them believe chelsea grabbed it the promotion into the last 8.
football is not mathematics.

i have seen two different chelsea at the first 25-30 mins and in the rest of the game.
thing is, as mancini stated it in his interview after the game, he said he respected/worried from chelsea more than needed which in return let chelsea push over galatasaray which took place in the first 25-30 mins. Then subsitutions took place and galatasaray started play its game and thing is, from that moment to the end chelsea failed to find a way to cope with it but LUCK !!! was with them...One ball hits cross bar, our man scores a goal but a chelsea player kicks a SECOND ball into the field so refree stops the game right before the goal scored so it is not a goal bla bla and bla...

if chelsea was that able to make it, they perfectly wud liked to score it, make a better score, if only they cud, then they wud.
i believe and think, chelsea tonight was the lucky side...they grabbed a good score for em, cos i really epxected to beat them at least by one goal margin, even more in istanbul.

i trust and am confident with my team though...
not the this year, but previous year quarter finals against real madrid first game in madrid, norwegian refree was a disaster/embrasment...
unless something like that happens, in very other words, if refree do not be the 12th man for chealsea, if it becomes a fair game from refree management point of view, then f*ck yes, we have got PART II of this show :D

i am someone i count myself i have got a amateur but good nose/smell over football, only 3 teams there are to scare me against galatasaray, and they are barca/rm/bayern...and rest ? just games for galatasaray...

no one can know what may happen...
chelsea sure is a strong team...but no one please think this is over...
well maybe let them think it is over, then our job will be easier.

thanks to a french man though, chedjou, scored a nice one if you had seen it...
and sorry to my friend who entered a comment after the first goal chelsea scored at 8th minute, i guess he expected another RM 6 1 GS but such a things happen once in a 5 years period :D

btw, we probably have got the best goal keeper over the world...
well, he did several mistakes tonight game luckly didnt cost us...
his legend is growing every single day...
what is that, 1 year ohh no, 2 years before i put up here his videos...
wacthed him a few games, i was like OMG what a goal keeper...
english clubs, arsenal/manu wants him to sign...galatasaray likes to keep him though...
well well well, i suggest galatasaray sets a real big fee for his sale, if ever happens, but if it was me to decide to sell or not sell, i wud NOT FUCKING sell him for any fee...

thing is, i didnt hear this from his own statements, however the feeling i have got, he feels galatasaray be his very well/much home...
he has it in his eyes is how i think...he likes istanbul and GS i think..

Anyone fancy Olympiakos to qualify? I do. Just one goal at Old Trafford and Utd need 4.

Oh well HA, not sure about the chances you have to beat chelsea in stamford bridge given that mourinho never lost a game there.. But as I said... 2-2... Who knows? This 1-1 home is still not a good result to make it through, even if you can still have hopes. I give you guys 20% odds to make it at most.

And joshy, I ve always hated united, so definitely hoping olympiakos makes it! Huh, actually a galatasaray vs olympiakos in quarter finals could be deadly :D
Not that I really want to see chelsea eliminated though..

By the way, you guys heard what mourinho said about etoo in an informal taped interview? The stupidest comment i heard from him regarding his own player..

holy shit we made it!!!! i knew kazan was crap at the moment, but never thought we would win there.. and sevilla made it too!
oh my god, a derbi in europa league..... on our worse season ever! this is going to be so humiliating... there is such rivalry between both clubs, you can't even imagine... why does this awesome thing had to happen precisely this year?????????? they are sooo gonna make fun of us and kick our sorry ass...

trevor: i have no idea of what happened in those games, but swansea is no rival to napoli, no doubt. if it was close it's only because napoli didn't take the seriously (by the way, there are a few players from the betis playing for swansea this season)

let's see if lyon makes it now. 0-0 in the away game and 0-0 after 25 minutes. they basically brought their youth team in odessa last week
i hate how clubs don't take this competition seriously sometimes.

Ok, so we already know all the 8 pairing in europa league s last 16:

Basel - Salzburg
Porto - Napoli
Sevilla - Betis
Lyon - Victoria Plzeň
Ludogorets- Valencia
Tottenham-Benfica
Juventus- Fiorentina
AZ - Anzhi

Starting to look interesting, a few tough calls there for bookies!
