Add Pennsylvania to the states now lost to Republicans over

Postby GaryDenton on Sun Aug 27, 2023 3:24 pm

Thirty-eight percent of Pennsylvania voters said abortion should be legal in all circumstances, while an additional 48 percent said it should be legal in certain cases, according to a poll conducted this month by Franklin & Marshall College. Only 13 percent said it should be illegal in all circumstances.

Nationally, it is about the same.

Record-high 69% think first-trimester abortions should be legal
Near record-high 34% say abortion should be legal in all cases
Parties are more polarized than ever over abortion legality.

Gallup’s oldest trend on the legality of abortion finds 34% of Americans believe abortion should be legal under any circumstances, nearly matching last year’s record-high 35% and above the 27% average since 1975. Another 51% currently say abortion should be legal under certain circumstances, while 13% (similar to the all-time low of 12%) want it illegal in all circumstances.

Fifty-two percent of Americans say abortion is morally acceptable, matching last year’s all-time high. This is 10 percentage points above the historical average since 2001.

So you're saying only 34% of Pennsylvania voters agree with Old Joe on abortion? Sounds about right.

Biden doesn't agree that abortion should be legal in all cases, of course. But Republican restrictions on abortion have very little support. Nearly three-quarters of Americans say abortion should generally be legal in the first trimester. All major Republican candidates reject that.

In what cases does Biden believe women should be prevented - under force of law and against their will - from having an abortion?

Take your time. I'll wait.
