What was in your CD case?

Postby kentington on Mon Sep 09, 2024 2:34 pm

If you don't know what this is, then feel free to check out some of the music listed by people.

What was in the last CD case you owned? Or do you still have it?

I got rid of mine a couple of years ago, but I remember some of what was in there.
Weezer (of course, Blue, Pinkerton(the best album musically), Green)
Brand New - Deja Entendu
Finch
Dynamite Hack
Earlimart (or something like that)
The Rentals
Ozma - The Double Donkey Disc
Some mix tapes
Superdrag - Regretfully Yours, and another one

Plenty more.

towards the end of the CD era, it was pretty much all mp3's I burned onto CDs.... but i think the last time I listed to a purchased CD it was prob Nirvana MTV unplugged album, or Sublime Acoustic: Bradley Nowell & Friends.

That was the best. Man watching them live, being drugged out and still sounding better than 98% of what comes out today. I originally said 90%, but I revised it and that still might be generous.

I had shoe boxes of 8 tracks in my extended hippie van complete with shag carpet, wood paneling and 8 speakers.

Last time I seriously collected records, they were still vinyl. By the time CD's came around, I was at the stage of getting records mostly by accident -- random gifts, etc.

Last CD I purchased was a re-release of Paul McCartney's Band on the Run. It was a gift for my then-wife (now deceased) who was a big McCartney fan.

Last CD I acquired for myself was Rush's 2112. I borrowed it from a friend about 15 years ago, and after that he left town and left no forwarding address, so I wasn't able to return it.

Oh man. Being the way I am (tend to keep shit), I still have many hundreds of CDs. I very rarely use them ...only to occasionally add to my online library (I use from my phone when I am not using a subscribed service).

But I dug up my silly sleeve as pictured in the op. I believe the last time I used it was for our annual hunting trip 20 years ago?

Several mix CDs I made, and then, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Metallica, AC/DC, John Denver, the Kingston Trio, Rammstein, Power Classics (Beethoven etc), and some commercial rock mixes by decade 60s, 70s, 80s.....

I don't recognize most of you young folks shit

Old CDs are beautiful.

You misfiled Rush. It also goes under 'C' for Canuck band stuff.

Lol! Bananarama. My sister had that CD and loved it. My brother hated it so much that he stole it and hid it so she would stop playing it.

Which reminds me - if bananrama had a grandma and that grandma had a banana, it'd be bananarama's nanna's 'nana.
