1500 AD you been raised into a fine young man that already knows the ins and outs of trading, your old man is proud of you but his wish is only one. that he lives to see you as the ruler of the most important merchant guild in the world. so he embarks you on a ship to a remote distant land where you need to prove your skill and hone your tactics to find friends and enlist them in what will be the best merchant guild in the world. your guild.

that's the background story of the tourney. now for the hard part. the organizing details.
this is a tourney that starts as singles then moves to triples and then to doubles.
don't be alarmed if that's confusing read until the end and then you'll understand.
at first there will be 18 players grouped in 6 3 player games. the winner of each game will become Master, the runners up will become Journeyman and the ones that placed 3rd will be Apprentices.
after this stage all Masters/Journeymen/Apprentices will join a 6 player game for their respective rank to decide who's the best.
when all three games are finished we'll have the standings for each rank. all the #1s will be teamed with #1s, #2 with #2 and so on until we have 6 3 player teams formed of 1 Master 1 Journeyman and 1 Apprentice.
team #1 will play #6 #2vs#5 and #3vs#4.
then we'll have just 3 teams remaining. the Master will then choose either the Journeyman or the Apprentice and form a doubles team that will play in the final game which will be a 6 player doubles game.
and the winner gets to be the Best Guild on CC

in case of a player not being able to continue the next rank will take his place. so if a Guild Master leaves the Journeyman takes his place, the Apprentice becomes Journeyman and a player on the reserves list becomes Apprentice.
a player is dropped off the tourney if he breaks the site rules (multi/secret alliance) or if he does not start his game in 72 hours from the time he is sent a pm with the game number and pass.
