xiGAMES Doubles Tourney Launches Today

Postby Scarus on Thu May 04, 2006 1:53 pm

PM me to be directed to a spot in a First Round Tourney Game. There are now 9 tourney games set up with xiGAMES Members and their partners as the hosts.

We plan to start with 9 six player, doubles games, in the first round. The winning teams from those games will advance to three semi-final games. The three winning teams from the semi-final games will all advance to the Championship Game

All games in this Tourney will be played on the Classic map, and all participants must agree to be bound by the xiGAMES Code of Conduct, (basically no alliances, and no offensive conduct)

As soon as the game you have been assigned to fills, you're off and running.

GL All!!!!!!!!

Random Assignments

Postby Scarus on Fri May 05, 2006 11:47 am

The seedings in this tournament are being assigned randomly. Each of nine first round games was set up with an xiGAMES Premium member and his/her partner as the host, and given a game number, one through nine. As each new team enters the tourney they are assigned to go to the next open slot, i.e. the first team that signed up was sent to game 1, the second to game 2, etc. As soon as there are two teams in each game, the final team will be assigned to each of the games in the same order.

The exception will be game # 9 which now has one team hosting. The other four slots in this game may be kept open for single players who sign up without a partner.

I appreciate what you are saying, and it does sound like a good system. Things just are being done that way this time.

If you guys, or anyone else would lot a slot in the Tourney you must pm me.

There will be no message board signups.

Tourney is filling fast

Postby Scarus on Sat May 06, 2006 9:31 am

About half of the first round games have already launched or will launch today. There are still slots for about 5 or 6 teams.

Only a comment: I really hate one fortification!!

Since you have not mentioned it, I believe this can be changed in the 2nd round, right?

Mr. Right

Postby Scarus on Sat May 06, 2006 5:32 pm

When you're Right, you're Right....lol

I thought for sure that this had been set out. In my mind there never was any question, and I've been talking to dozens of people in getting the first round games set up, telling each one of them that it was one fort. I also told the guy who prepared the promotion graphic that it was one fort...lol

Now that I look though, I can see that it never was posted for everyone to see. My attitude is that all the games are going to be one fort, but I will give you this much. In the second and third rounds, if you can convince Every Person in your game to have the game be unlimited, then you can do that.

Sorry about the confusion, but there never was really any confusion, just inept communication...lol

I promise you that in future tourneys we will have more options, it's just that we're still a little frustrated that the March Madness Tourney is still going, and going, and going....and we just want to make this simple and quick.

Tourney Brackets

Postby Scarus on Mon May 08, 2006 12:24 am

We just need two teams more to complete the tourney registration. Almost all of the games have launched already. As soon as the last game launches, (I would think Tues at the very latest), I'll publish the game numbers and lineups for each game.

The nine winning teams will play in three semifinal games and the winners of those games will play in the Championship Game.

We need two more teams if anyone is interested please PM me.

tourney

Postby Scarus on Mon May 08, 2006 8:37 am

I believe that 7 of the 9 first round games have launched and we just need two teams, or four individuals, to complete the first round games.
