I didn't (want to) watch the match, but from the reports I've heard, the way they dominated towards the end of regulation and in extra time, they truly were the better side.
Ronaldo's celebration was way over the top, but you can't really hold that against the team - that one gets filed in the "Ronaldo is an arrogant ass" category.

as opposed to you, who when born, already had a 50 year history of supporting psg (or whatever club you support). and your first words were not mama/dada, they were chants for psg.
seriously, what's your problem with that type of fans? some people only occasional follow football and sympathise with a certain team. they don't have to know that team's history or even the current players to enjoy a game every once in a while.
there are all sorts of fans ranging from simple sympathizers to hardcore ones and in my opinion all should be treated equally.
the only "fans" that should be mocked are the ones that every season change their favourite team (generally picking the one who wins), and the ones that that merely started supporting a team but claim to be hardcore when they obviously aren't. as long as their interest (small or large) is honest, they should not be laughed at.
edit// real madrid fans watching the final on santiago bernabeu. reaction to the equalizer:

in terms of winner suckers you mean? yeah RM and barƧa fans are pretty much the same thing in that area. It's just ridiculous how in spain the whole media attention is just about them and they don't let anyone else exist.
betiko wrote:Well I wouldn't agree. If you compare the biggest sports press in other countries, l'Ć©quipe, gazzetta dello sport.. They aren t as trash as marca. Any TV progam debating about football in spain is 90% about madrid and barcelona. You will have a phrase or two about other clubs.
They will speak about cristiano's new tattoo in priority even if this mid table club just changed head coach the very same day.

sadly, not only in Spain... it's kinda a requirement if you want to survive in the media business. You are forced to provide according to the demand. in other words, reports, news and articles about Real and Barca get way more attention and views than any other thing.
When a silly report about Messi or Ronaldo brings you 85558078678678567857608769568 page views in your website comparing to a great report about anybody else brings you like 3K page views, it's normal to hear your boss bitching and demanding you to focus on those couple of whores and forget the rest, because that what brings you advertisements. sponsors and money that keeps your business running.

So, should we blame ourselves for wanting to read nonsene, or blame the system currently in use for allowing us to read nonsense?
Bonus question; Is it easier to change human nature than it is to change human culture?

The simple concept of human nature includes the idea that there are things that can't be changed about ourselves. If, you were to reduce the your concept of human nature to a insignificant pea-sized idea, you would be able to change more things about yourself.
But that doesn't belong in this thread.
In Mexico all the teams suck equally. THey are mediocre. Any team can be champion. Let me tell you that it sucks. I watch European football instead, and watch quality plays and technique and amazing goals and players with the will to overcome anything, even if that same ego makes them provoke a penalty kick in the 119 minute in order to score and show their bare torso.

some people are too stupid to understand the nature of a topic. They pop up and bitch about us because they think we are bitching about something, while we are in fact discussing the reasons why some fans are arrogant and annoying.
So let's simplify it for the those too stupid to hopefully help them understand:
In football industry, your best clients are the teenagers because they have plenty of time in hand so they could spend hours a day browsing your website and making your wealth as a media owner.
Those kids are just arrogant and annoying when their teams are so dominant and superior.. It's the closest thing to spoiled brats whose parents (teams) are giving delivering them whatever they want!
But if you think we are discussing a social matter about changing this, then I believe you need to change!

that's the target audience of your website. more page views doesn't mean more revenue; higher profile of readers can make you sell at higher CPM rates.

according to any site owner having the maximum unique visitors is the objective, but of a given target audience. You told me about your target audience; and it's not a very sexy one for most of the advertisers. The inventory is definitely going to be sold very cheap.

Oh yeah... Saudi people are the most wanted target!

Depending on the product. If you want to make a media planning in saudi arabia for an energy, bank, luxury, telecom or an airline company, the ones spending the big bucks, would you try to advertise on a big site for pre-pubert wankers or on the sports pages of business sites? A small sports section of a quality site can be much more profitable.
