
just want to lay out my preliminary ideas here and now and see what people think, i dont know if this has ever been requested or not, but i hope you like tihs general concept.
The map you could probably relate this most too is a mixture of D-Day and Fortress, the majority of the map will be split into 4 major sections
1) Boats (4-6 continents?) - this war was of the face that launched 1000 ships and the territories themselves will be named after the most prominent Captains of the invading armies, the boats however WILL NOT be linked as they are in D-Day, instead i would like 2 primary links (smaller vessel wise) into each fleet from the beach, and much like in Actium the main vessels will be able to bombard one another. ARMY VALUE - extremely low(austrailia)
2) Beaches (3-5 continents?) - moving inwordly we have the beaches, these are pretty standard set of land with many territories they will each be named after specific encampments/hero's of the invading armies, i would perfer that there are less beach continents then boat continents as to make it more challengeing to hold them. ARMY VALUE - moderate(Africa)
3) Battleground (? continents) - once again the layout for this one will be typical, many territories arranged into various continents named after the greatest hero's of the trojan army. The reason for no # of continents placed is that i am playing with an idea for there to be an exessive ammount of continents, im talking 10 or so tiny continents 2-3 contries big this will be used to display how hectic it would be to take and hold and fend any paticular area, there will be no good starting points at all in this area. ARMY VALUE - individually equivlent to australia, overall High value.
4) City of Troy (6 continents?) - for the city of troy itself i plan on having the highest value be the towers and such, but they are also the most easily taken, the main gate/towers/walls may be divided into perhaps 2-3 continents, while the inner city itself will be divided by basic districts I.E. temple, government, residential, ect. The towers and walls would be able to be taken by any connecting contry within the palace, but none from outside. I plan on 3 enterences into troy #1 the main gate(obvious) #2 the secret passage accessed both ways but likelly starting off with a heavy number of neutrals #3 a thought i was playing with, the trojan horse.
Trojan Horse Idea - just random thoughts about this, somewhat like in bamboo jack, you can enter the horse and fight through its various layers to take it as a continent itself however when you reach the top of the horse it will link to a point in the center of the town (thereby displaying the importance of this legend).
Also possibility - if the towers seem to powerfull of an area perhaps an added continent as a path leading from the coast to the secret passage to be lined with some sort of balistics that can only bombard certain sections of the towers.
OK to do this map it would require alot of thought and alot of research into the trojan war, any thoughts, ideas, advice, or do you wana rip my idea to shreds? i dont mind any critisisum is good
