and i have an idea about how the mods could have something with this to, maybe a special 'mod section' or 'a word from the mods' in the newsletter tho? and like they could pm to the newsletter editor what the section would say. This wouldnt have to be in every edition, but just on occasion.

Bryguy, you're not getting it! Since it is not mod based, mods can still contribute, but they contribute as CC'ers, rather than mods. Thats what makes the most sense to me.

eh if thats the case then apparently im not getting it, if so, ignore my post

or

you could modify the idea so that they could contribute as CC'ers, but every like 4 months they could contribute as mods

Unnecessary complexity. In general, the mods in the Foundry are only mods to move topics through their paces. They're more often regular foundry participants than they are mods. Granted their regularity will make them ideal people to write editorials (*coughsmallhintcough*).

Well if there's a usergroup I'd obviously join, but I honestly wouldn't be able to run it. I don't see how you manage to find the time for those statistics, Tack -- but I'm glad you've offered to take this on. I'll help as much as I can.

Gozar, I'd definitely like to contribute the "Maps in Development" Section for the newsletter.
I think because Maps in Foundry goes hand in hand with the site, it is essential we "advertise" what maps are coming up. Others may have another opinion on this.

The newsletter would be foundry specific for those who subscribe, just like the Tournament Newsletter is specific to those subscribers. I doubt they'll be any cross-references (unless the editors choose to do so).

I will only be acting as a 'consultant' to whomever takes on the Foundry letter job, so this decision will ultimately be up to them.

I agree with you though, and it is my opinion that anything a person is willing to submit, is only a cut and a paste from publication. :)

Here is my present list of people I'm adding to the staff, and their present function:

Gozar, Consultant (Tournament Newsletter head guy)
AndyDufresne, Consultant (Foundry regular)
oaktown, Consultant (Foundry regular)
Forza AZ, Consultant (Final Forge regular)

cairnswk, Contributer
ZeakCytho, Contributer
gimil, Contributer
InkL0sed, Contributer
Elijah S, Contributer, Map Spotlight Editor

I AM being selective on who is on staff. If you're not on the list and wish to be, PM me reasons why you're up to the task of CONSISTENTLY helping out with the newsletter. Burnout amounts of effort is not what I'm looking for, I'm looking for people able to turn out dozens of issues.

Just wanted to drop in and tell you all that the Newsletter is underway. We should get some serious progress done over the next week, so look out for an issue in the near future.
