The letters... meh. I know what you're going for with them, but I think it may be better to just use ordinary letters, at least for the small version...

Really? I don't know I still think they're pretty cool, It's not like you can't tell what they mean or anything...

I'm not debating against their coolness by any means... I just find that on the small map, the detail of the ornaments goes to waste so to speak... The resolution of the small map just isn't big enough for all the fine detail in the glyphs.
Why not make them something similar to the font of your title.

Isle

Man

Earliest known Celtic settlement in Galicia was that of the Saefs in the 11th century BCE. They were capable fighters; Greek historian Strabo described them as the most difficult foes the Romans encountered in conquering Lusitania. - of Celtic origin: Lus and Tanus, "tribe of Lusus".
The castros date from this era. In Galicia, a castro is a fortified pre-Roman, Iron Age Celtic village, usually located on a hill. These were circular hill forts with multiple concentric walls. Usually there was a trench in front of each wall. Major castros were built in the coastal regions of Fazouro, Santa Tegra, Baroña and O Neixón, and in the interior at Castromao and Viladonga.

Why not find a font that has nice looking letters but with less small details.
