Reinforcements

Postby befera on Mon Dec 06, 2010 1:21 pm

I think it would be cool if there was an option (in certain games) to bring in reinforcements. A player could accumulate X amount of reinforcements for every game they win; much like points. Then in certain games, you could bring in reinforcements. It could be limited to a certain number per turn, or per game, or whatever...

I'm glad that you like your own suggestion.

I don't really like it. You can already save up in every game to get reinforcements. It's called spoils. Don't think I would like my opponents bringing in spoils from other games to be used against me...

Can you give us a practical example of how this would work? All I could see happening is higher ranked players getting an advantage over lower ranked players, which seems unnecessary. What would cause reinforcements to be earnt and why would people choose to play those games?

Oh my god, no! As if the rank-whores we've got now aren't bad enough...

On top of that, premium players will always hold an advantage over freemiums, as they can play more games and thus 'save' more reinforcements to use.

How would the OP work all of that out?

This would simply come down to the situation where people will bring in a crapload of reinforcements when they playing against people much higher ranked than them. I can see this as somewhat unfair towards high ranked players who play a lot of non-team games.
