Make Premium Rank Symbols Fancier

Postby Funkyterrance on Mon May 02, 2011 11:23 pm

Concise description:

Make the rank premium rank symbols more attractive than the Free to Play ones.

Specifics/Details:

Either put shiny bits or more ornate parts on the premium rank symbols. Perhaps the premium symbols could have gold AND silver parts or even gems that glittered to make them look really "primo".

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

This will benefit the site by making non-premium players envy the awesome looking premium members' rank symbols and have more of a desire to buy premium.
Most of the rank symbols I prefer the silver version (particularly Colonel). I pay for premium so mine should look cooler!

Not to discourage your idea, but 1) isn't taste a matter of subjectivity, and 2) does this really help that much with this site? I'd argue the amount that would get a kick out of this would be lower than the amount of work it may be with. However I don't know this for sure. But yea.

Yea just trying to get a feel if anyone else feels this way too. I guess if enough people agree it would be worthwhile :). I realize that premium is mostly about getting more games/speed games but this would just sweeten the pot a little bit more.

I think it depends on the rank, really. Silver Lieutenant, swords and colonel look awfully impressive, but the gold captain shines, and Field Marshall looks splendid in gold. Perhaps they should make it so that the preemium players can opt between American type ranks or British type ranks? :P

Hmm, maybe the free to play symbols should be brass :D. I just want there to be no discussion about which ones look better lol.

The symbols are so small as they are now any small details would be awfully hard to see.

Good point safari. How much would it bog down the game if the gems were animated (sparkly) ?

I don't know the answer to that, a tech mod would probably know the coding specifics.
