Re: My 9th grader doesn't know......

As far as i'm aware, none of my schools(elementary through high school) have taught or explained Roman Numerals. I had to learn it in a latin class freshman year, so i'm pretty sure its not something everyone is taught--i'm doubtful that they teach it in Spanish, which seems to be the favorite ...

Re: Moral Relativism and the case for theism

I think the individual perceives right and wrong own their own, though with unavoidable influence from outside sources like religion. But when you think about it, no one really has the right determine it. But it's there and it is more or less just what the masses deem acceptable. Yet If someone ...

Re: Question for students

Would you consider letting others copy off of you during a test cheating? Because if so, I cheat regularly.
Otherwise, I don't cheat on tests.. I couldn't do it, I have no faith in the capacity of the people around me to correctly answer them...although I don't have much more faith in myself ...

The boarder between scotland and england needs to be lower, I know its just a minor thing but i can see it being repeated in future maps.
Will do. The map I based the borders on was a bit unclear, so it was more or less arbitrary for the time being. I'll fix it by the next update though. If you ...

Ok, revision #1. Better quality than the last, thanks to edbeard's suggestion to use png.

I attempted a different, bigger font(not completely added). Is it more legible? I brightened things up ...

North-west USA would be New England.
Actually, the New York area is included there, so its not quite New England.

I like it, but the water texture needs to change. It looks like Google Earth water (and I get the feeling it actually it is...)
Its not, really. Just some experiementation, kinda ...

Ok, I believe there are about 60 "countries," and ten "continents" which yeild bonuses. The only strange sort of feature, or maybe just implementation, is the function of the attack routes. They converge at various points, linking various "countries" together without too much clutter.
This is a map ...

Re: US flexing their muscle

Damn man, they've been lying for 4 years now. What makes you think that they've turned over a honest leaf?

Are you sure?
That doesn't sound right.
I was thinking maybe 40 or 50, at the very least.
But I wouldn't be surprised if it was more in the 200 year range.

I'm not really sure about ...

First of all, I think this map is pretty nice. Some souther borders, like between Texas and Indian Territry, are a bit pixelated. But otherwise, I like it.
And I see Lincoln is in there, up in the northern states. What about adding Jefferson Davis in the south? Just an idea, to me it seems like it ...

Hmm.. I think that the textures may be a little too.. strong, might be a good word. Do you think softening it up a bit might make it a little easier on the eyes. A bit smoother, but not perfectly smooth?

In regards to the borders(which are not right for this map), what if you tried more subtle divisions(dotted lines, really thin lines, something else?), which are easily distinguished but don't overpower or detract from the map as these do, and simply highlighted the borders between "continents" with ...

saying they look like cryptonite isn't very helpful in identifying what exactly you don't like.
I think he means that they are green and crystal looking. Versus brown and more like Mountains he's seen.

Font on the small map is really difficult to read.
Also, I can see distinguishing paths slightly difficult on the small map. Not sure if that should be addressed or not, it may not be a big problem, but I did need to get my face relatively close to the screen to do it..
The map looks great, kinda ...

The center is worth +15 armies and starts with 1 neutral army. (Chances of keeping the center the whole round after you move are very small) This discourages building.
.

I think that if its 15.. It'll be hard to take the center from whoever can collect its bonus. And building will most likely ...

Yeah, thats a problem.. Yet, maybe you could try to implement the roads in a way that would lessen that problem just a bit. I don't know how, but I think that could help. Not sure about water transport, but if the Incas did use it you could connect citys by the ocean too.. Maybe find more cities.. I ...

I think the idea is good, but its really confusing as it stands.
I don't know how to fix this, I guess making it a bit clearer would help.. Definately make the borders thinner, I think.

Is it possible to find any more cities within the Empire?.. If you can, you could use cities rather than regions.. I think thats a viable alternative. And just divide the land among the cities.. or just have the cities themselves as the territories and connect them all through roads or attack routes ...

Hey, I resemble that remark.

There should be department stores scattered throughout the edges of the mall (but not connected), and maybe if you hold all of them you get a bonus.

It's true. My mall has all of those except the hot dog on a stick (however, we do have an equivalent.) And I think we're going with general terms as it is (it's a few posts up from here), so you can't directly call it "Footlocker," it's going to be "Sports Shoe Shop." Likewise, "Victoria's Secret ...

I think as far as shop names go.. Alot of creativity could work out well.. Maybe the names could be humorous, maybe parodies of well known stores..
