Re: POLL - Auto Snapshot at game start

Sure. I always start immediately, but tell my opponent what he would have seen had he taken a snap (generally "I took country X"). As far as reinforcements, missing guys, that''s usually obvious from the number of guys he can see when he begins.

But sure ... why not add the feature? As others have ...

Age Of Realms 3 - Blood territories

Apologies for posting a specific game variant rules question here, but I didn't see a specific forum for it

Rules say Blood terrs can attack docks, and docks can bombard blood terrs. How does a terr not on the island take a blood terr to get on the island? Thx for any clarification

Re: [GP] Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button

Yess.

Oh God yes.

The inability to "tip the king" is the biggest downer for the entire site (well, next to a run of bad die rolls in a critical game and then watching in horror as things even out in a game already hopelessly lost). It is the reason I hesitate to enter a "trench variant, which I ...

Re: dice sucks

If the dice generation method has not changed recently (one 50,000 roll file that is repeated over and over

WHAT??? I thought there was a random number generator used for each dice roll. Is this "piano roll" of Dice rolls strategy correct? If so WHY is it being used?

Re: What can be done to reverse the decline?

Two thing I haven't seen mentioned on this thread.

1. How serious is the actual decline? In terms of players? In terms of active games?

2. We have a lot of potential "CC" champions out there (people who play a lot of games). Perhaps some incentive program (medals and other virtual benefits ...

Multi-round tournaments - who moves on in case of "ties"

In the tournament I'm in, round 1 consisted of 5 games for each player, and half the players went on to round 2. The cut point was 1 victory - some folks made the cut, others with 1 victory were left behind.

I was wondering how this was determined:

* Random
* Order of signup
* some in-game ...

Re: [GP] Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button

The rejection of "surrender" appears to have happened in 2006!! In 2-player polymorphic trench games, you may have 40 turns to wade through after all is lost.. it is a major bummer. Can this be revisited (surrender in trench only, 2 player only,after minimum turns ... I'll take what I can get ...

I have been screwed by DST - is this a known bug?

I appear to have been screwed by Daylight Savings time.

See game 14013026 log below. This is NOT a speed game.

Turn starts at 12:57 PM PST. Watch what the *&^% happens 2 minutes and 3 seconds later when (I suspect) the software automatically moved the clock forward.

Re: Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button [Rejected]

I know ... no one wants to hear it.

But how can having a resign button IN A 2-PLAYER game be subject to abuse? This allows a player to "tip over his king" in graceful fashion, instead of slogging it out or deliberately missing 3 turns in a row.

A two-player game "resign". Why not?

"It seems to me that the best thing to do in a stalemated game 3 rounds before the end would be to have 3 of the players miss turns. If 3/4 of the team deadbeat, all the troops will be passed to the remaining teammate."

Brilliant! The variant just got implemented, and you've ALREADY beaten the ...

Re: Round Limits

What about team games? Is the winner decided by total amount of troops of the team, or does the team that has the "winning player" win?

Re: Round Limits

At first blush, I loved the idea. Imposing a turn limit is a great way to avoid those endless "reinforce and hold" games with no RISK (or even Fixed value Risk). CC is very responsive to players needs.

But there were several ways to do it. Determine the winner by number of territories held, by the ...

Re: Limiting games to Rank (Option)

You seriously don't know how many times I have heard "Well, it's an option, you don't have to use it" as an excuse to implement something. It really get's annoying.

I can believe it. But that's how most new ideas get implemented right? I can't think of the last "mandatory" change in the rules I ...
