Oh! My bad. I assumed in a 'free-style' game, you'd get the same "so-and-so missed a turn" message. Apparently not. Sorry about that, I'll edit the title.

Non Cheating Alert -- Sorry about that. [cleared]

'pminus', in game 69923, just got a 3-times multiplier on his armies, even though he has not missed a single turn.

Oops. Sorry. I didn't see any "... missed a turn" messages, so I assumed there hadn't been any. My fault.

Freeplay Hacked

I looked, but couldn't find this suggestion.

It seems to me the 'freeplay' option is broken. Currently, it's a race to get your armies at the start of a turn -- not a problem. THEN it's a race to wipe out the other guys stuff before the other guy can reinforce. THEN, it's a delay to wait for the ...

Random?

I know the list from Random.org is A1 A2 A3 D1 D2.

Is it perhaps possible that the list is already sorted? So if three armies are attacking one:

3 4 5, 6 1 -- The '6' will come up...
2 6 3, 6 5 -- Again, the '6' will come up...

etc. Is that possible?

Thanks for your attention. I did time a RT game recently, I was just visiting it. And yes, the world-cleanup moves could take 10 minutes or so. So my 5-minute fixed proposal won't work, deep sigh.

Adjusting after turn 6 still seems practical though...

Fair enough. Thanks for moving the thread.

I checked the sticky's on this. This wasn't really a "Varying Game Time" option -- more like an "RT Game Time Category" with fixed 5/15 or fixed 3/18 minute options (whichever seems more appropriate).

I agree it might be more convenient to get 'clever ...

An alternative would be 3 minute moves, with 18 minutes per round, to allow for 6 people playing sequential. That might be too crazy, though.

5-minute turn cycle, for RT games

I've proposed this lower down, but thought it could have its own thread.

Would it be possible to allow the initiator to create an RT game, with 5 minutes to complete your turn, and 15 minutes limit per round? This way, if everybody is paying attention, any dead-beats would drop out in 30 minutes ...
