Re: slower escalating games

Some other options I thought of:

randomised escalating: there's an "upward" trend for the amount of troops you get when you cash in, but simply because the last player who cashed in got 20 troops doesn't mean you'll get more than that next round. The lower bound and upper bound for a set will ...

slower escalating games

I think the fundamental principle that the cards *will* increase in value is good. It avoids stalemates on certain maps (especially the big ones), and it keeps games interesting.

But what we know is that escalating games almost eventually degenerate to "I need to attack 1 territory" to get a card ...

See, that would be true if you were playing a STANDARD game.

e.g. You fend for yourself against high-ranking players.

I don't mind that.

I just don't want to be fighting high-rankers while depending on questionable teammates.

unequally matched team games dominate

While it is not a hassle to use the game finder, I am finding it disturbing that the join game pages are filled with team games where 2 or 3 veterans join collectively for 20 games on end, then wait for the noobs to join. Then of course, you might have several such groups, so you just get pages of ...

I hate AJAX.

Seriously, my page won't refresh automatically, the dice won't show, and twice I've suffered disaster because I attacked the wrong country because of the automatic "reassigner" when you click your target country first then your source nation.

What exactly was wrong with leaving the option to turn ...

I don't see the issue ... some people play a lot of six player ffa's ... they lose more often, but they win they get a larger amount of points.

I mean if you have a win rate of 30% and your games are mostly six player ffa's, I would consider that quite good.

I don't see how it increases server resources.

I'm just asking for the cookie or whatever to last longer, and not expire sooner.

Besides, gmail keeps me logged in for 2 weeks. I don't see why CC has to be so special. Security to me isn't an issue. It's just annoying, because I want ...

stop logging us out every 30 minutes

Really, I don't see why CC has to log me out every 30 minutes or an hour or so. If it's for security reasons, let us choose, because I honestly don't see the point and it's highly inconvenient especially when you're trying to quickly get to your games.

The tactic is a bluff. What is a bluff? Well, it is something that if the opponent plays it right, it will end up being harmful (or useless) to you, but the opponent has a large chance of falling for it.

Most people are immersed in their own interests, and when someone skips a turn, the thought ...

Re: Die

"Die" is singular. "Dice" is plural. Is that common knowledge? It doesn't seem like that to me, but then people don't talk about a single "die" that often.

I mean, under what circumstances would you hear someone complaining about how one die is not living up to the standard of their other TWO ...

retaliatory feedback left by deadbolt

I hope this is the formal process.

Deadbolt left me revenge feedback for game 246437. I was upset with the way he played, where his continued will to keep attacking (even though he only had a total army strength of 6) in an assassin game cost all of us the game, except the victor, of course ...

Yeah, but if you're giving a dicdef you have to use a standardised orthography - one phonetic vowel for each letter. Hence /u/ is always /u/. That's why it's found between slashes.

There are five graphemic vowels in the English alphabet. Humans are capable of producing 28 (English has about 11 ...

It's not dictionary crap, it's the International Phonetic Alphabet. Got difference. You see, if we romanised everything in IPA we wouldn't have obnoxious Westerners mispronouncing pinyin "Wang" as /w̃æŋ/ when it's in fact /waŋ/.

So I digress. This is an international community ...
