Re: North America: Draft!

(While we're at it, why doesn't DublinDoogey have a mapmakers medal for this one?)

This map came before the medals, and not all cartographers got their old medals unless they said something... at least that's my guess. There were tons of medals to hand out at once and the non vocal people were ...

Re: North America: Draft!

I know you said you'd rather not change gameplay, but one thing that always perturbed me on the old map was merging Washington State into Oregon, when states like Idaho, Montana and Wyoming all hold their own. It makes sense to combine the Dakotas, Carolinas, Virginias and New England, but ...

Re: North America update?

As the original designer, I'm really excited that my map is getting an upgrade that will hopefully bring more people to it. All the comments so far are things I agree with--army circles, tightness, color, etc.

Oaktown, I really like the draft so far, it's what I was thinking when we were talking ...

Re: Japan - 2nd revision pg3

For gameplay--and because of space--it might be better to only use the mountains to separate bonus regions. There are a few places where they separate countries within a single bonus which doesn't really do more than take up space and allow for the regions to be very difficult to hold. Perhaps you ...

Last year or so, definatly feel free to make your own, I just figured I'd throw that in for the discussion. I think it'd be a fun map and if no one else were gonna do it, I could, but it would probably be better (and quicker) if someone else did.

I was working on one a while back, but there didn't seem to be the interest to make the work worth it.

Here's the link to the topic though:

If I could get photoshop for my laptop I would prolly be willing to continue work

If adjusting bonuses it might make sense to have Manahattan higher than Brooklyn, or for them to at least be equal. I'm new to the New York area (college) so I don't know the history extremely well, but it just seems that in the grand scheme of New York, Manhattan is the most valuable borough and ...

Dunno how critical it is, but just noticed that Corsica isn't colored like the rest of France. And could "European Homelands" replace "Homelands of Europe"? The way it is suddenly struck me as kinda awkwardly worded, but that could just be me and not the wording.

I like this alot, especially having the "homeland" box too, definatly ups the 'historical' factor.

The old map look is good but could it be improved by lightening up the whole map? It may be my monitor but it seems s bit dark which makes the watermarks and text hard to read.

And just noticed ...

There were very few comments about playablity (which i wanted to deal with before graphics) so I figured people weren't that interested. I'd be willing to begin work if there were proper comments made. Thanks for the encouragement too.

I've been following this a bit, and I'm really impressed by the latest stages. I'd have to vote for the version without flags, it looks cleaner than the one with the flags. Also, I'm wondering how set you are on the lake to shore arrows, I think that having a sorta smudged show is a great way to do ...

I can't find it, but I swear that there was a good looking, simple version without all the clutter. Has the consensus been to go with all the crazy jungles and rivers and stuff? I'd like to see an advancement of the cleaner, neater version myself.

I think all you'd have to do for the allied/enemy bonus system is to make all the ally lines green and all the enemy lines red, of course, people could continue being stupid and think you need them all, but it might help.

Around The World in 80 Days [Waiting for Players]

I had this idea and thought it might be fun. It's my first time trying to organize a tournament. Track is starting soon, so I'm gonna keep this small for now.

So, all the games will be played on World 2.0, with sequential, chained, and flat rate cards. There will be four games of four people ...

It may be too late into the graphics stage but something seems off about the purple hill. It looks like all the other ones are pointing up, and it seems like it's pointing slightly toward us or something.

It may just be how I'm seeing it, but it seems to throw off the otherwise great perspective ...

The Hadarac isn't able to to be taken, it's like trade routes or sea routes connecting the territories.

As far as dividing the Spine, do you mean into more countries? There isn't really a lot of room where the cities actually are, and I'd rather not do Southern Spine, Middle Spine, etc. I do ...

After skimming through this, it seems like theres a misunderstanding about the terms of the NAP in question, or, most-likely, my understanding of it.

It seems to me that the NAP was that they wouldn't attack through that border until the third player died.

The goal was to maintain one peaceful ...
