I think the 2 continents in the top left are over-valued On their own, they might be worth 2, and 3, but to hold both of them for a total of 5 seems a little too easily achieved.

I played with some forest/mountains to the top ... will have to come up with some prototypes next time I'm at work (where the map lives.) The photo I stuck in there looked funny, but I think with proper effect (brightness/contrast, hue, something) it could work. Or were you thinking of hand drawn ...

just to make the map look a bit more cool, why don't u add some mountains or forests to the north. just for visual pleasure...
