I think those who regularly play escalating singles can attest to the fact that a lot of games stalemate. They get to the point where a single or double cash is not enough to eliminate anyone. Or, if such an elimination is attempted/accomplished, the player doing the eliminating will be left ...

Re: Defered troops - what is rationale for this?

The deferred troops rule needs to go. It's the dumbest feature of CC. Nothing provokes as much annoyance in other players than watching a turn missing player return and move into an advatnaged position *specically* due to the extra deployment. Happens all the time, and plenty of people skip turns ...

Re: DICE!! [Not-A-Bug]

OK I'll accept that you're not trying to bash me (despite what I just read lol!). But in my couple of years on this site, it does seem to be the biggest bugbear that causes most complaints. The fix is simple, just add a game type that doesn't use the dice in the same way or a "Rock/paper/scissors ...

More info to be ignored:

The dice distribuition is even with 20.000 rolls. One can almost believe they are truly random.

Re: DICE!! [Not-A-Bug]

My proposal: Forget bitching about it in the forums, very little actions results. Instead, one Admin is needed to lead a committee/private discussion forum (i.e. without 300 posts clogging it up)/call it what you will, of interested players to work out an alternative or range of alternatives. I'd ...

I don't have time to read this entire long thread (dating from 2006!), so apologies if this link has been referenced already. But everyone should read the following website, in full:

Re: MalditoPT and sakota - secret diplomacy

Bump. Is anyone going to look at this? It's a pretty cut-and-dried case, it's all right there in the chat with a full admission that these two are buddies and agreed offline not to attack each other. Speaking in a foreign language is the icing on the cake.

Re: Gutshots

So, we can't join games with new players unless we're new ourselves? In the rules, it says, "... systematically "farming" new members..." (emphasis mine). 6 games out of thousands is hardly systematic.

Besides, I don't see why anyone should go out of their way to avoid games with new players ...

Check into what a bell curve is. Also, if it was always 8-7, that would be the exact opposite of random, and we'd know for sure the dice were fixed.

Re: Question about dice...

We all know there is a list - this list is RANDOMLY generated. Since you don't know what is on the list, the outcome of every dice roll is random.
Why would your knowledge (or lack of) of a number (long after it has been generated) in any way affect its randomness???

It wouldn't, it was random ...

I believe in random as a theoretical concept but I'm not in any way sure that there is a natural event that has been proven to exhibit those properties.

Deadbeating newbies should drop after 1 or 2 turns

Concise description:

⋅ Newbies (players with 0 games played) should drop after missing 1, or maybe 2 turns.

IMO, this would improve the game, because it's not infrequent to create a game, only to have a ? with no games played join it and never take a single turn. Those players should ...

Re: Question about dice...

If the roll was 5 to 4 (as one example), and this came from a pre-determined static list, then yes, the likelihood was 100% that you would lose. This is a fact whether you knew beforehand or not that you would lose.

This principle applies to all rolls on CC, as they all come from a pre-determined ...

Re: Question about dice...

Probabilities as you attempt to calculate them do not apply to the dice on this site, as the dice are unpredictable.

Right, they're unpredictable, i.e. random, so why would probabilities not apply? They are dice - probabilities apply to all dice.

This shows that you misunderstand the CC dice ...
