Displaying Dice Stats in game

I'm a big user of Dice Stats in my decision making. Currently, before every battle, I have to pull up the profile of my opponent and look up their recent rolls. It takes 2 clicks. It would be easier if we displayed Dice Stats (last 5 rolls) in a game's Statistics column. I've made a mock-up here ...

Help a CCer win a Webby?

Hey Conquer Club,
I'll keep this short. The web series that I produce, shoot, and edit has been nominated for a Webby. It's cool news, but we're up against the New York Times and they're currently in the lead. My friends and I produce our show on a shoe-string budget - seriously, we're almost broke ...

Re: An Impeachable Act of Bribery?

I wish I had your optimism. I would point out that almost everything on that list from high speed trains to reducing nuclear stockpiles (and "criticizing" Israel? Is that really the best we can hope for?) has yet to materialize. And sure, it's still relatively early. No one can work miracles. But ...

Re: An Impeachable Act of Bribery?

Obama may not be delivering exactly what he offered but he is by far better then any true potential opposition, ie McCain/Palin. They would have been much worse in my eyes and in the eyes of everyone who still backs Obama.

Perhaps I missed something, but I don't see the difference. I know, I know ...

Re: An Impeachable Act of Bribery?

It makes me sad that no matter how much Obama disappoints those people who were naive enough to elect him, they still won't wise up and vote for Nader (or any third party candidate). That would just be throwing their vote away!

Pretty good article right here about the effects of nuclear testing. Obviously a different debate than nuclear power, but still eye-opening.

Re: What should Obama do in Afghanistan?

You mean other than the fact that they're directly culpable in the 9/11 attacks, right?

If by "culpable" you mean "the Taliban let al Qaeda use their caves" then sure, they're culpable, though indirectly. The Taliban has no shadowy global agenda. They never have. They have a fucked up vision of ...

Re: What should Obama do in Afghanistan?

Withdrawal, pure and simple. Our mission was to go in and knock out al Qaeda, and most experts agree that we've succeeded. Now mission creep has set in and we're going after the Taliban. The Taliban are bastards, no doubt about it, but they've never posed a threat to the US. If we leave Afghanistan ...

... Hmmm... bombings might be a good reason. They bombed government buildings mostly, and banks.

... Why they aren't in jail is very much beside the point, and an obvious attempt to dodge the subject.

... So, you're on board with the Weather Underground assisting congress in drafting legislation ...

Re: The exponential function

you're all making the classic mistake of assuming that outputs will always be static

The crux of Malthus's argument - that humans reproduce exponentially in a world of finite resources - has never been disputed (except by that crazy oil guy on the Daily Show). As a species we still haven't ...

Gabon, do you think we should pay higher taxes to provide health care to children?

when we could solve it now by switching to renewable energy sources and encouraging people to limit the number of children they have.

Would either of these things actually solve the problem? I understand from various sources that the problem of global warming is virtually unsolvable.

Well if ...

Re: The exponential function

I believe it's not over population but waste that is the problem. The excess food, clothing and whatever else your average North American wastes could easily support many people.

It's both. Americans use more energy per capita than the inhabitants of other countries (a LOT more), so indeed ...

Look at their board members and tell me they have our best interests at heart. ACORN founder, SEIU VP, and Weather Underground co-founder.

Re: Universally Accepted Source...

There are no easy answers in media bias. Even the so-called "liberal" networks like MSNBC skew to the right when it comes to their corporate owners.

You can usually get some good info on biases by checking SourceWatch.

Re: Political Rallies

It's a good question, but I think we could add, "Have you ever been convinced to go out and vote because of a political rally?," and perhaps we'd see more balanced results. Or maybe not, since people are too proud to actually say, "I'm voting for him because I saw him speak."

I think the simple act ...

i dont know anyone who doesnt know what cards are worth in flat rate.
