Great :) Take all the time you need, as you can probably tell by the time elapsed since I started this project, i'm in no hurry. ;)

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp [ONLY GRAPHICS]

As you say, this is almost ready to run. Just pay attention to the next few meticulous suggestions to satisfy the stamp people and you'll be done. I don't completely agree with putting it through the foundry process again, but it should still have some external input.

Some parts of the image could ...

So, now that that's clear, should I take the silence to mean "abandon this ship and never return" ?

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp [ONLY GRAPHICS]

So what you are saying is that we can either has this, or not?

Basically, yes. As i've said there are some things I can do, but I have a relatively small range of possibilities.

How long would it take you to get this back up and running with new files and would you be willing to do that ...

How is this effect for the water paths? Like I was saying I can't just make the existing lines bolder so i'm having to redraw them on top of the existing ones - so before I finish - is this even working for you guys?

The ones that are changed are on ...

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp [ONLY GRAPHICS]

The reason I say I can't do much here is because I don't have the original files. I can't change, for example, how opaque the army circles are because all I have is the flattened, 1 layer image. I don't have that kind of control over the image anymore.

It looks better and no one is disputing that ...

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp

>I think we can all agree that it looks a lot better than what we have now, so why all the extra bs?

Lol i've been wondering this for 4 years now.

Everything is exactly the same as the map that is being played on now and has been played since 2006 I believe. The coordinates of the borders ...

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp

This one *is* the updated version ;)

viewtopic.php?p=3936431#p3936431

Unfortunately as I say in the post a few above it, i'm pretty limited in what I am actually able to do as I don't have the original file, all I can do is play around with what is already there.

Small version is of course just a matter of resizing, which i'll happily do when/if there is a go-ahead.

Hey everyone. Long ago I lost the layered photoshop file I was working from to make this, so I basically have no ability to make any changes to this. I brought this up before a few years ago and someone told me I still had to make some kind of update ...

Re: The Fight for Alexander's Empire [Quenched]

Yeah, looks good to me the.killing. If someone wants to go ahead and edit that xml file, you have my blessing (and thanks).

[q]Maybe in that case it's easier if you make the map a bit wider? You don't have to change borders that way, only continue them.

Re: The Fight for Alexander's Empire [Quenched]

Just by inspecting the map, I have a feeling that the way I constructed it would mean that changing a border's shape would be a bit of a pain.

But maybe it'll be something to do on a rainy day. I'll keep it in mind.

Re: The Fight for Alexander's Empire [Quenched]

That would only require an XML tweak, no? If someone wants to go ahead and do that, be my guest, you officially have my permission. I personally don't want to spend too much time on that, though, especially considering that I can't see why anyone would ever choose to store a 3-digit army on India ...

Remarkably, I had the old photoshop files stashed away in a weird corner of my external HD. So, spelling fixed.

The next time I hook up my old external HD i'll check to see if I have the necessary file laying around somewhere. If not, unfortunately I wont be able to change that spelling error :\

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp

So.. no then? Personally I think the newest version is leagues ahead of the old one, and I think it's definitely at the point where theres no real HUGE complaints left (other than the mountains, which can be changed).

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp

I'm not really capable of making too many changes to the last iteration of the map. The layered file I was using to make it is long gone I believe, so I theres not much I can do to change it. Also I don't really have the time these days to go through the whole map-making process anymore.

So I'm ...

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp

Hey guys. I've been through a couple harddrives since I was working on this, so i'm pretty sure the photoshop files are long gone.

Personally I think the last version I had, while not perfect, is still a huge upgrade from the original. So if you want to use it, you're more than welcome. I suppose ...

Re: An Ancient Greek Revamp

Hasn't been abandoned, but I started this revamp in the week between my last week of work and my first week of school, which is why it made so much progress so quickly. Now that i'm back in school I don't really have time to spend on this. I'll get back to it eventually.
