Re: Poker Map (Page 1 & 22) [I] [GP] [GF]

Got bored - so decided to make the XML anyways...

I need to do the army centreing but otherwise - the rest is done.

This is my first time looking at this map and I like it. Nicely done graphics and ...

Re: The Texan Wars [Quenched]

The problem is that Pampa and Lubbock have their map coordinates swapped. So Towakwa does connect to Lubbock, it's just that Lubbock's armies are shown in the Pampa army circle.

Re: 1v1 Singles League Season 4 [UPDATED: April 1 *Please VOTE*]

Thank you to the organizers, amazzony & simor !

And congratulations to all the participants and glorious winners!

On the subject of Risktaker17 's achievement, special commendation is certainly due, but I voted no to awarding overall 1st place. I'm not entirely clear on the particular honor and ...

I agree the map can be confusing at first, but that's fine because once you get used to it, the complexity makes for good gaming.

Are you using BOB, the greasemonkey UI enhancement? If not, try it out. It makes the attack-defense connections much clearer.

I know it must be a lot of work to run this tournament. Thank you for keeping it going. Just the effort in sending out the invites is impressive - I'm told "We've reserved a place for you in Division 7."

I like the way territories are connected on Crossword. You can move quickly across the map and visualizing the attacks is different from most maps - you have to gang up from parallel words and keep track of the almost leap-frog nature.

Congratulations CairnsWK,

The map looks great! I've been busy with other things, but you guys are putting out some fantastic maps. Of course I agree with the calls for some method of beta testing. That's how s/w gets developed, someone has to test it before release. I said it last time and it ...

I've been too busy the past month to keep up with the Forum, so I was happily surprised to see this map appear in the Game Finder.

I think it looks great! I really like the way the regions got named after actual "explorers," though Carter is the only one I recognize. As much as I like that change ...

I'll agree to disagree with your point on the advantages of having a "stack" to position after deadbeating. I still believe this can be countered - or at least massively offset by the free attack phase the other players are given.

The last thing that I want to do is create more work for you. I still feel a bit bad for mentioning my confusion over the cities and then seeing how much more work that created. It seems, though, that some of Lupo's suggestions could be implemented without a lot of extra work. I suspect that ...

[...] The formula could be a little more complex. For example, it might include some or all of these components: ⋅  Miss 3 consecutive turns and you're out, overrides everything else.
⋅  Miss a turn, get a strike.

⋅  Clear a ...

My suggestion would be to make it so that if you miss 3 turns in a game (and they don't have to be consecutive) then you're out. It may be tough for those longer games, but it will provide some incentive to play the game as it was meant to be. While it's a valid tactic, I don't consider it to be an ...

While I prefer the dots to the current style of dashed lines, I think that overall it's a fine choice. The solid vs dashed lines define the continents nicely. The updated arrowheads, above, look good.

Mmmm...the Cartographers ...

Yes, after 24 hours you lose your turn. Do it 3 times in a row, get kicked out of that game. BUT - if they come back after missing 1 or 2 turns, they get 2 or 3 times the number of armies to deploy.
