All groups except for two are fully operational now and the last two groups have notified me on their position so all seems well. I am thankful to all that have joined their games and saved me from doing alot of work over again. Some groups are well into it so the scores will be updated daily. Unfortunately because there are over 2000 games to check I'll will only be scoring finished games for the first bit. Again thanks for all your cooperation and forgive me some of you for all the nagging PM's. Have fun and enjoy.

Would have been nice if he PM'ed me about it. Because he is in over half the games I'd rather him join and if he misses turns he misses turns. At least if he does well in his games he has a chance for round two. If not he will have to be replaced.
I told him to pm you, but I kind of figured he wouldn't. I am going to forward you the message I received from him the other day...Need a decision to be made concerning the rest of our games since it is very important to the tourney for every group to moving along.
i wonder why i joined this tournament. all clueless noobs who cant play escalating are in my games. suiciding stacks, going for bonusses, giving easy kills for 5 cards.

people, learn 2 play escalating plz
I'd be careful, 5 out of your group have placed fairly well in past Map Blaster tournies. This tourney is not really about the wins..it's about the points. Past round winners have not won the majority of the games. It's about lasting to the end of the game and some players love setting other players up for a fall and not leaving singles for cards because if you can't get a card in a game you get 0 points even if your stack lasts to seventh place. Other players hate seeing stacks, in the past one poor player got beat up so bad for just stacking armies to the end and not attacking that the one card win rule was born after much trash talk in the forum. So before you start trashing players about their game play in esc. games they may be playing Map Blaster tactics instead of the one time normal escalating strategy.

Just saying.
So true. Requires a real adjustment and I got hammered in the semifinals of the last one despite having the second or third most wins. Really frustrating .

totally agree with you. not to mention that if somebody gets angry with you on one game he can ruin 139 other games for you...
All groups are up and playing. Thank you all for joining the games before they timed out. Now I'll be able to concentrate on the score keeping. So with that said...
Scores have been updated as of Feb.16th @ 2355hrs.
Quite an adjustment going back to the first round, get a real bunch of oddballs in the group, as well as some flat raters that just need to be avoided. Fun times though a few games are already down the drain from probing opponents.

Does this mean that there is no score for the position that the player finished, or that everybody else moves up a position?
For example: [game]6411301[/game]. Scoring should be:

Example one is correct, you score where you finish except if you do not take a card you get 0. There have been some that left a player to the end knowing that they did not have a card and took them out last knowing they would recieve 0 points. It's a mind game.

Wow, so I've combining horrible luck with the bad strategy!!!! Hopefully I've got time to course correct...
Should be plenty of time, it takes maybe four or five los maps to get a feel for your opponents, the real dirty business usually happens between games 50 and 100.

And on another note, my membership was up the first week of February, but Dazoot sent me the PM about MB VI UD and I got psyched...In other words I was going to let my CC membership go to the wasteland/graveyard of my online gaming, but Map Blaster is best tourney I have played thus far, thx for keeping it going Dazoot, and you are doing a great job at record keeping!

That's what I thought, so that's what I did. Thanks for the clarification.
Question- are the groups all pooled together for subsequent rounds, or do the 4 players from a group continue together through the tournament? Can't see in the rules where there is a bracket as we had in previous map blasters.
