Red sets up the game, so he has the advantage of using his preferred map and settings, that might explain it.

Except that all the other players who joined the game also knew what the map and settings were before they joined too.

I can see where it might be a slight advantage in this way. Red presumably has at least played a game before on the map and game settings he set up. While it is conceivable that someone who is joining that game hasn't played the map or settings before.

For example, if you have only played unlimited fortification before, you are probably at a real disadvantage in your first game with chained or adjacent fortification assuming you are playing with players who are more experienced in those settings.

It seems to me that players who join last might have an advantage because they know who their opponents will be, whereas Red has no idea who will join his game.

red does seem to go first more often than any other single color...tahiti will discuss the odds of this in depth im sure, but going first, while in some games hurts, can be a bonus in others

and of course, considering its D making the statement....there is an incredible likely hood he is full of it :)

Well, since the choice of who goes first is based on the same completely random source that drives our beloved dice, Red should go first no more often than any other color. Of course, Red plays many more games than Magenta or Cyan or Yellow, but on a per game basis Red is no more likely to start the game than any of the other colors.

I can't ague at all with your second point...
