Looks much better than the old map. Definitely worth trying my hand at with the new map.
I've got a question about the continent bonus. How can West End have the same bonus as Transalpinia?? West End only has three contact points and would be much easier to defend. Shouldn't that mean that it doesn't deserve as much bonus as Transalpinia?
Just wondering. I'm confused about how continent bonuses are made. If you could explain the rational that would be great.
i don't like the 3 neutral grounds. the quarry and the part with the formula 1 circuit are gray and flat while the cross is colorful and with a 3d aspect.
this is not looking good. either make all of them flat and in similar color or make them bright and 3d.

That has been suggested and I will work on it. The racetrack is the airport. They do need a littel bit to help them blend in better.
Just an idea for the old quary... you could make it like the one in my town. It is like an upside down cone with a rode spiraling down. The center at the bottom is filled with water.

great.
PS: i swear that looks like a race track. what do they do on that airport? race planes?

OK here is the latest update
I have made the "dead" areas less flat.
I still think the current bridges are the best. They are so small that any detail just looks bad.

the quarry looks much better but the airport is still flat

It is an airport. Those are pretty flat you know. Bumpy runways are not the best thing for an airport to have. If you look at both the new and old airports, the new one has a slight emboss that gives a little depth.
What if the bridges had some sort of structure to them? Personally I think they're fine, but I guess it wouldn't hurt for them to have some other distinguishing features that makes them look more like bridges, rather than just roads.
if you do decide to change the airport than I would suggest trying a cartoonish like way about it. Maybe an airport with one flight tower and one or two runways would allow you more room to make it more detailed.
quarry looks cool! too much water to be a replica of the one near my house, but it definitely looks like a quarry! Good work on that one.
I wouldn't even bother with the bridges unless you're planning on making a structural bridge with supports and shit. Even doing that I think it would be overkill and look way too good to the point the bridges would be the eye-catcher and take away from the rest of the map. I really can't think of anything you could do with them to keep the graffics balanced...
Here is the next update. I tweaked some of the colors and textures.
I have decided to keep the bridges. RockSolid liked them and many others have said that they are OK. They are too small to show any real detail (especially on the small map). Adding detail just makes it too busy.
Why do you have some kind of glow around the cross? To give it a celestial effect? Can you remove it to see if it's better without it or if it's better as it is?
