"What if only new recruits got the armies multiplied and experienced players did not??"

I think its a bad idea, lack. I changed my mind after I saw your reason...
We have real lives, so we cant be here all the time. In Easter weekend, many players lost their turns, including my partners... for some players, the game is over after that... But anyway, I now believe that multiplied armies are a good thing. We all expect a player that lost 2 turns already will deadbeat... but you always need count his armies as if he deployed already, until he is really eliminated... its part of game strategy, only this.

I don't agree with Marv. I think only New recruits should get their armies doubled, or at least give Exp. players maybe only 2/3 or 1/2 the armies. If you were playing real RISK (though I know this is not per se 'Real RISK') or any game of a similar fashion, you wouldn't let your opponent miss a turn, and then come back with double the power. It is not a strategy that you would use, to miss a turn then, and it shouldn't be here.

Marv - I sympathize with the can't-necessarily-get-online-inside-24 hrs crowd until I remember Jota's toggle option. Consent solves everything. Plus, Easter's only once a year...

I don't want missed turns to be an option. I try to keep the game simple and user-friendly. I think something like missed turns should just be determined site-wide.

Hey Lack. After reading your position I can totally understand where you are coming from; that you want Newbies to enjoy the play and come back, but allowing 'turners' as I will call them to hold up the game and do that strategically also slows the game and turns Newbies away. Newbies want to play, that is what draws people in and makes us addicts. When games flow I feel complete peace, but when I have to wait 24 hrs. then I stop to care about that game and don't want to play.

When I keep checking and see no games to play in that is what bothers me. I want to play: I would rather play and lose than have to be a 'turner' and win.

Newbies may also be enjoying the game and doing alright and if a 'turner' comes and wipes them out or takes them out, that could ruin their experience also. There are two sides to that coin.

Anyone who has been burnt by a 'turner' would fully understand the frustration and anger this causes. :x

I like your idea of multiple armies for newbies and none for anyone else.

If I lost a game because I had to be away and miss turns, I wouldn't like it, but that is just punishment for making all those other players wait 24hrs. or even 48hrs.

I agree with whoever said there should be a skip my next turn button. I can't play on Sundays and I don't like holding up games, so I think it'd be ace to just be able to push that button and save people the trouble. This could save a lot of accidental deadbeating, I think.

Yeah, if we don't allow missed turns for experiences players, there should also be a "skip turn" button for those who observe the sabbath / leave town / etc...

Hey everyone has to miss turns for legit reasons (weekends, holidays, etc...). There is usually a difference between newbies missing turns and experienced players missing turns, but why should the experienced players be punished?? We're usually punished enough in the game. Leave it like it is...

Hmmm...would it help if there were a non-consecutive missed turn maximum for either being a deadbeat or losing multiplied armies? Right now, you can miss two consecutive turns an infinite number of times in a game as long as you don't hit 3. If missed turns were capped at 4 total before you're deadbeat, or 2 total before you no longer get multiplied armies?
