I guess you're referring to San Marino/Vatican City? They are two tiny countries wholly surrounded by Italy - as depicted on the map - so there's not too much I can do about thatAndroidz wrote:Why is Italy so diffrent from the other continents? its looks not so good.
As I just mentioned, San Marino and Vatican City are both enclaves of Italy, which makes Italy a lot easier to hold than Germany, for instance. It will also be fairly easy to expand from the Italian islands to get the Med Island bonus.max is gr8 wrote:It has 6 territs with 3 borders and gets 3, yet central europe has the same bonus for 4 territs

Must remember thisiancanton wrote:does the sea look a bit darker near scandinavia and lighter in the south? can u make it lighter near scandinavia to contrast with the blue of the latter?
the army shadows are suitably subtle. even on the small version, they do not take over the map. are blue armies clearly distinguishable from scandinavian blue?
can u use internationally-recognised abbreviations for country names instead of made-up ones? below are links to both 2-letter and 3-letter iso codes. the 2-letter codes are in wider everyday use because of the internet, although the united nations uses the 3-letter codes.
http://www.iso.org/iso/country_codes/is ... ements.htm
http://www.un.org/Depts/Cartographic/en ... eoname.pdf
the one that most needs to change is liechtenstein, since lt is the official 2-letter iso code for lithuania, which is also on the map (lt is, for example, used as the lithuanian internet top-level domain code, while li is liechtenstein's equivalent).

five other abbreviations on our map are used by different territories as their official iso codes and these are given below.
bh: bahrain
mo: macao
sl: sierra leone
vc: saint vincent & the grenadines
mac: macao
connect the peloponnese peninsula to mainland greece by drawing in the isthmus of corinth on the eastern side, to the right of the army count. at the moment, the peloponnese looks too much like a med island.

if we renamed the balkan states continent as north balkans, then do u think everyone would be satisfied?qwert wrote:I think that Malta,Crete and ciprus must be a part of mediteranean, and Grecce part of Balkan.
transcontinental has 6 territories, of which 3 are border territories. i think +5 (+4 and +1 motherland) is too high: classic africa also has 6 territories, of which 3 are border territories, and is only +3, without the benefit of a sub-bonus as a stepping-stone.

No solution required I don't reckon - bonuses look good to me.MrBenn wrote:I guess you're referring to San Marino/Vatican City? Central Europe is pretty exposed - count the number of territories that can attack Germany!
The bonuses are more or less what the bonus spreadsheet/calculator suggested... are you raising this as a problem, or just pointing out that the two areas are very different yet have the same bonus? If it's the former, it would be helpful to know if you have an alternative solution

How to make a map handbook wrote:To earn your graphics stamp you must comply to the following conditions:
- 1) Image must present itself as clear and legible.
2) The aesthetics must be to a presentable foundry standard and must also satisfy the community at large.
3) Cartographers must ,where possible, reduce any disadvantage that can be caused to a colorblind individual.

Large isn't part of my criteria for graphics stamp, just small. If you work on a large then I require to see a quick glance at a resized large to determine if the resize will have any major issues.blakebowling wrote:wait, how did he get a graphics stamp if he doesn't have a Large Image?gimil wrote:

Nice idea... I'll have a look at itOgrecrusher wrote:Just a Thought, maybe you could make the sea connections from England to France/Spain not start from the same place. It makes the France one less obvious in my eyes. Maybe a Dover-Calais one for the French one and leave the Spain one as is.
